Da Nang: Timely support of food, water, and necessities for people in flood-affected areas

Ms. Viet Huong, representative of Hoiana Resort & Golf, shared that on October 28-29, the company coordinated with local authorities of Hoi An Tay ward, Duy Nghia commune and Thang An commune to provide hundreds of meals and necessities to isolated people. At the same time, the company prepared hundreds of hot meals, more than 1,200 bottles of drinking water and necessities (315 boxes of instant noodles, 200 boxes of cakes, various types of dry food), and transferred them to local authorities and relief reception points to distribute to people who are flooded in Duy Nghia and Thang An communes. In addition, people in the neighboring area, if in need, can directly come to receive meals and drinks at Hoiana's employee village. Ms. Viet Huong added that the facility is still reserving 100 rooms in the employee village to serve people who need temporary shelter.

In the flood-prone area of Hoi An, many tourism businesses have joined with local people to distribute hundreds of banh chung, Quang noodles, and drinking water to people in Thanh Ha Pottery Village. Nearly 400 households in this area have been isolated and cut off by floods for the past two days.

The Women's Union of Da Nang City has called on its members across the city to support people in flooded areas with food and supplies. Specifically, all levels of the Women's Union of Da Nang City have provided thousands of meals, necessities, drinking water, household items, etc. to people in flooded areas.

Ms. Vo Thi Giang Nhu, Vice President of the Women's Union of Hiep Duc Commune, said: In recent days, in Hiep Duc Commune, Da Nang City, heavy rains have continued for a long time, causing many villages in the commune to be completely isolated. In this situation, the Women's Union of the commune proactively directed the branches and mobilized union members to help people in low-lying areas protect their property and people. In addition, women's union members in the whole commune wrapped more than 500 pairs of banh chung and sent them to people in completely isolated villages.

In flooded areas, in addition to using mobile canoes to support the transfer of emergency patients and transporting necessities, the Da Nang City military force also uses drones, motorboats or floating packages of necessities to deliver relief goods to people in isolated areas of the city.

In the communes of Dai Loc, which is considered the flood center of Da Nang City, the city's armed forces were mobilized to the maximum, using mobile canoes to go to deeply flooded areas, supporting people to move, transporting necessities and ensuring the safety of residential areas. Officers and soldiers promptly took two people to the emergency room, one of whom had a broken arm and the other had appendicitis and were promptly treated.

At the same time, the military forces coordinated with local authorities to visit, encourage and prepare 70 mats, 20 20-liter water bottles, 4 buckets of water, 40 boxes of fish and 100 cartons of instant noodles and gave more than 260 free meals to people in villages in Thanh My commune, Da Nang city who are avoiding floods.

The Navy Region 3 soldiers also coordinated with local authorities to supply food to isolated households in deep flooded areas. Immediately after arriving in the areas affected by the floods, the Navy Region 3 officers and soldiers quickly coordinated with local authorities to classify and package necessities including instant noodles, bread, dry food, drinking water, etc. to transport and deliver directly to isolated households, ensuring that no one suffered from hunger or cold.
