Ms. Urawadee Sriphiromya expressed her belief that after the administrative boundary consolidation and expanded development space, Can Tho City will develop rapidly and prosper in the "era of national growth". The Ambassador also thanked the city's leaders for supporting Thai businesses to operate and do business in the area in recent times; at the same time, said that Can Tho's development goals are very similar to Thailand's development goals, especially in terms of the "3-connection strategy" (connecting the supply chain - connecting the local economy - connecting sustainable development strategies).

The Thai Ambassador affirmed that Can Tho City is a dynamically developing land, a center of green economic development and a service city of Vietnam; in particular, it plays an important role in ensuring food security in Vietnam. At the same time, he expressed his desire to promote cooperation between Thai enterprises and Can Tho City in the fields of smart agriculture , green agricultural processing, smart logistics and eco-tourism, renewable energy, waste treatment, etc. The Ambassador also agreed to organize a large-scale exhibition of Thai products in Can Tho City in 2026.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep, Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee, emphasized: Can Tho is one of the 6 centrally-run cities of Vietnam, playing the central role in the Mekong Delta, the country's key rice, fruit and seafood production area. With a favorable geographical location, a diverse transportation system and socio-economic infrastructure being heavily invested by the Central Government, Can Tho is striving to become a national growth pole by 2030. In that process, the city needs cooperation with foreign partners, including Thailand.

The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee said that Can Tho has great potential for development in the fields of high-tech agriculture, processing and exporting agricultural and aquatic products, industry, tourism, trade and logistics services... In the coming time, the city wishes to cooperate with Thai partners in these fields. At the same time, it is committed to creating favorable conditions for Thai investors to come to learn about and implement projects and is ready to coordinate with the Embassy to organize exchange activities, promote investment and tourism between the two countries. In addition, the city's sectors are ready to coordinate with Thailand to organize activities related to trade promotion, services, and tourism promotion in Can Tho in the coming time.

In the first 9 months of 2025, the city's export turnover to Thailand reached 22.7 million USD, with key items such as seafood, garments, agricultural products and processed agricultural products; import turnover reached 13.5 million USD, mainly fabrics, raw materials, machinery and equipment for production. In Can Tho City, there are currently 5 investment projects from direct capital from Thailand with a total registered investment capital of about 119 million USD.
