Successfully energized the 220kV Nhon Trach 3 – My Xuan

The project's energization meets the direction of the Government and Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) to complete the project in October 2025.

The project is invested by EVNNPT, NPTPMB manages and operates the project on behalf of the investor, and Power Transmission Company 4 manages and operates after the project is completed.

The project has the scale of: Construction of a 220kV overhead line originating from Nhon Trach 3 power plant connecting to the existing 220kV My Xuan - Cat Lai line. The project passes through Dai Phuoc and Phuoc An communes, Dong Nai province. The project was started in December 2024.

Mr. Le Tuan Anh - Deputy Director of the Power Transmission Project Management Board (NPTPMB) said that this is a very important project with the task of releasing the capacity of Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant into the national power system and ensuring power supply for the region.

The project implementation process encountered many difficulties and obstacles, especially in the procedures for approving investment policies and in compensation and site clearance. To meet the project progress, in parallel with the implementation of compensation and site clearance procedures, NPTPMB has been very active and made efforts to mobilize households whose land was affected to agree to hand over the site to the construction unit.

Regarding construction organization measures, NPTPMB requested contractors to mobilize maximum forces, means, and machinery to urgently implement the project with the spirit of "only work, no back-talk", "through holidays, through days off". Construction units have worked hard day and night to focus on construction, bringing the project to the finish line.

Along with that, the construction conditions of the project are very difficult, the construction terrain is narrow, mainly muddy. The transportation of materials and equipment is mainly by boat, combined with manual labor; in many locations, workers have to manually carry sand, stone, and cement to the route; construction machinery must be transported by barges and boats to be able to access the construction site...

The completion of the project is of great importance in releasing the capacity of Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant into the national power system; ensuring continuous and safe power supply for the load center of Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring areas; strengthening the connection of the 220kV power system in the area, enhancing safety, flexibility in operation and stability for the national power system.
