| Troubleshooting electrical problems in flooded areas |
Due to prolonged heavy rains in the last days of October, many areas and localities in Hue City were deeply flooded and isolated. To ensure absolute safety for the people, PC Hue proactively stopped supplying electricity to more than 297,000 customers, almost the entire city area on October 29 and 30 when floodwaters rose.
As soon as the water began to recede, PC Hue mobilized more than 250 officers and employees, divided into many groups to key areas, urgently checking the current status of the power grid, transformer stations and each residential area.
Mr. Nguyen Dai Phuc, Director of PC Hue said: "As soon as the water receded, the unit's staff immediately went to the scene to check each location. We always put safety first, and only turn on the power again when conditions are right."
By early afternoon of October 31, PC Hue had restored power to more than 284,000 customers, reaching about 92% of the total number of affected customers. About 3.6% of the remaining customers (more than 12,000 households) in deeply flooded areas in Phong Dinh, Phong Phu, Phong Quang, Vinh Loc, Phu Loc wards... are continuing to be repaired.
PC Hue commits that by the evening of October 31, the entire city of Hue will have safe and stable electricity again.
