Focus resources on the project's final phase

The 220kV transmission line project connecting Nghia Lo - 500kV Viet Tri substation is invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), the Central Power Project Management Board (CPMB) represents the investor in managing and operating the project, and Power Transmission Company 1 takes over operation after completion.

The project has a scale of 2 circuits with a length of nearly 94 km, passing through Yen Bai and Phu Tho provinces.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tinh - Deputy Director of CPMB said: Up to now, the project has mobilized and completed the handover of 256 foundation positions, and handed over 112/256 column spaces (corresponding to 40/96 corridor anchor spaces).

Regarding construction progress, 253 foundations have been completed, 175 columns have been erected, 256/256 columns have been handed over to the construction site and the wire pulling is underway. Currently, there are many teams and construction groups working synchronously to erect columns and pull wires on the route.

According to CPMB, during the implementation process, the project encountered difficulties mainly in compensation for site clearance (BTGPMB). The merged communes have just come into operation, so the procedures and unit prices for BTGPMB of the localities are waiting to be re-issued.

Along with that, localities face difficulties in human resources in carrying out procedures on BTGPMB.

CPMB is working closely with local authorities to gradually resolve specific problems to ensure construction site availability.

Accordingly, CPMB also requested the units participating in the project to increase compensation staff to coordinate with localities to inventory and examine land origin to develop compensation plans for approval; organize and mobilize households to hand over the foundation site; increase human resources and equipment to focus on implementing the construction of columns and pulling wires simultaneously at current locations and column intervals.

CPMB has reported and registered to work with the leaders of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee to get instructions and remove obstacles to speed up the progress of BTGPMB work for the project.

The representative of the construction unit said: Recently, the area has been continuously affected by stormy weather, which has greatly affected the construction work. Along with that, human resources have been dispersed due to the construction of other urgent key projects of the Electricity industry. However, the unit has mobilized all teams and machinery to speed up the construction, determined to complete the project to meet the requirements of the investor.

High determination, great effort to bring the project to the finish line

The project, once completed, will help release capacity from small and medium hydropower plants in the Northwest region. In addition, it will help reduce power loss in the transmission grid, strengthen regional power system connectivity, improve safety, reliability and stability in operating regional and national power systems, and meet the load needs of industry, commerce, services, daily life and other activities in the Northwest region.

At the same time, the project contributes to strengthening the power system connection, enhancing safety, flexibility in operation and stability of the national power system; enhancing electricity security for the North from 2025.

At a recent project progress review meeting, Mr. Truong Huu Thanh, Deputy General Director of EVNNPT, assessed that despite many efforts in the recent past, the construction site has not yet met the overall progress target of the project.

To ensure the project's completion progress as required by EVN, EVNNPT Deputy General Director Truong Huu Thanh requested the entire construction site to be highly determined and make great efforts to bring the project to the finish line.

Specifically, EVNNPT leaders assigned CPMB leaders to regularly visit the construction site, focus on directing and operating to ensure the completion of foundation casting for the entire line no later than October 20, 2025.

Complete pole erection along the entire route no later than October 25, 2025; complete wire pulling along the entire route no later than November 10, 2025 to conduct acceptance and energization in November 2025.

All difficulties and problems must be promptly resolved at the construction site. Along with that, CPMB needs to proactively follow up and coordinate with local authorities, relevant departments and branches to remove obstacles in BTGPMB, organize propaganda and mobilize households to agree with the project.

EVNNPT Deputy General Director requested CPMB to meet with each construction contractor of the project, based on specific progress milestones to urge construction management. At the same time, the contractors were required to perform construction simultaneously to ensure the required progress milestones.

At the same time, construction contractors are assigned to mobilize all resources with adequate human resources, construction machines, etc. to construct simultaneously, erect pillars at all locations, pull wires at anchorages, and ensure project power is turned on as required.

EVNNPT's professional departments regularly monitor the construction situation at the construction site to work with CPMB to resolve problems; promptly report and advise the Corporation's leaders to resolve difficulties and problems beyond their authority.
