Promoting cooperation with the UK's leading semiconductor technology group

(Chinhphu.vn) - On October 31 (local time), in the UK, working with ARM Group, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung asked the Group to support Vietnam in training a team of international standard microchip design engineers and establishing an R&D center in Vietnam.

ARM is a British semiconductor technology and software design group, currently has over 6,500 employees and revenue in 2024 is about 3.2 billion USD. Appreciating the Group's global role and position in the semiconductor industry, the Deputy Prime Minister welcomed ARM has had many initiatives to support human resource development, knowledge sharing and promote technology cooperation, contributing to the formation of a foundation for the innovation and technology ecosystem in Vietnam.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that Vietnam aims to attract and accompany the world's leading technology corporations such as ARM in developing stages of the semiconductor industry value chain, including human resource training, research and development, technology transfer and infrastructure construction for production.

Proposing ARM to strengthen close coordination with NIC and domestic institutes and enterprises to implement specific cooperation programs, the Deputy Prime Minister suggested implementing ARM's training and certification programs to build a team of international standard microchip design engineers.

In addition, Deputy Prime Minister Note that the Group is considering opening a representative office in Vietnam as well as establishing an R&D Center at NIC Hoa Lac to promote investment and business cooperation in Vietnam and the Southeast Asian region.
