Hue dispatched two trains of more than 1,600 tons to prevent the Bach Ho railway bridge from drifting.

On the evening of October 29, Mr. Le Trong Tung, Director of the Thua Thien - Hue Railway Exploitation Branch, said that the Railway industry had dispatched two trains carrying rocks with a total weight of more than 1,600 tons, stopping on the Bach Ho railway bridge over the Huong River to add loads to prevent the bridge from drifting due to rising floodwaters on the Huong River.

Accordingly, the first train has 22 cars with a total weight of 630 tons; the second train has 19 cars with a total weight of 980 tons. The cars of these two trains both carry rocks and come from Hue Station.

Previously, on the evening of October 27, the Railway sector mobilized 19 train cars to increase the load on the Bach Ho railway bridge when the floodwaters on the Huong River rose. Specifically, these 19 train cars were specialized in transporting rocks, with a total weight of 980 tons. On the morning of October 29, the floodwaters on the Huong River receded, so the Railway sector moved these 19 train cars out of the Bach Ho railway bridge.

After falling close to alert level 3 early in the morning of October 29, the flood level on the Perfume River through the center of Hue City is rising rapidly again. At 8:00 p.m. the same day, the water level on the Perfume River was 4.93 m, exceeding alert level 3 by 1.43 m, causing widespread and serious flooding.
