The floodwaters on Tra Bong River rose higher than the flood peaks in 1999 and 2009, approaching Chau O Bridge at Km1036+261 on National Highway 1A through Binh Son Commune, Quang Ngai Province at 1:00 p.m. on October 29 and remained at a high water level until the evening of the same day. By 8:00 p.m. on October 29, the floodwaters on Tra Bong River had peaked and receded slowly. Authorities removed the barriers on both sides of the bridge so that people in Binh Son Commune could travel on National Highway 1A through both sides of the bridge to go home.
Lieutenant Colonel Vu Thanh Giang, Head of the Traffic Police Department of Quang Ngai Province Police, said that although the barrier on National Highway 1A in the Chau O Bridge area has been removed, the Km1029 section on National Highway 1A is still flooded. Therefore, the police force is still maintaining many traffic control teams on National Highway 1A to guide people and vehicle owners traveling at night.
Senior Lieutenant Le Minh Thanh, an officer of Road Team No. 1, Traffic Police Department of Quang Ngai Province Police, said that the traffic control team at Binh Long roundabout area is responsible for guiding vehicles traveling in the South-North direction to slowly move from National Highway 1A, turn right from Binh Long roundabout along Vo Van Kiet Avenue towards Dung Quat, then turn up Doc Soi to reach National Highway 1A. Regulating traffic according to this plan is to ensure safety for people and vehicles when National Highway 1A is still flooded.

In Nghia Lo ward, floodwaters on Tra Khuc river are slowly receding and are at risk of rising again when reservoirs upstream flood if there is heavy rain. Officers and soldiers of the Traffic Police Department of Quang Ngai Provincial Police, police and militia of Nghia Lo ward and Truong Quang Trong ward are still blocking and diverting traffic at both ends of the bridge, preventing people and vehicles from passing through Tra Khuc 1 bridge.
Chairman of Nghia Lo Ward People's Committee Tran Dinh Truong said that Tra Khuc 1 bridge must stop operating from 7:00 a.m. on October 29, 2025 when Tra Khuc river water level exceeds alert level 3 until further notice. Local authorities regularly coordinate with functional agencies to inspect and mobilize forces to block the bridge area, check the bridge abutments, piers, and water flow conditions to ensure safety on Tra Khuc 1 bridge.
According to the flood warning bulletin of the Quang Ngai Province Hydrometeorological Station, the flood water level on the rivers of Quang Ngai Province has peaked and is slowly receding. Currently, the water level of Tra Bong River at Chau O station is 4.88 m, 0.38 m above alert level 3; the flood water level on Tra Khuc River at Tra Khuc station is 7.43 m, 0.93 m above alert level 3.
