Quang Ngai: Hundreds of people used sandbags to block Tra Khuc River from overflowing into Song Dao Canal

On the afternoon of October 29, hundreds of people tried to put sand in bags and drop them into the end of the Song Dao canal to prevent water from flowing back from the Tra Khuc river (Nghia Lo ward, Quang Ngai province) into the center of Quang Ngai province.

The Dao River Canal is the main drainage point of the northern part of the central urban area of Quang Ngai . Normally, when the water level rises, the forced pumping station here will close the sluice and operate the pump to push water into the Tra Khuc River.

However, at this time, the entire area is under construction of an anti-erosion embankment combined with a park along the Tra Khuc river, so the pumping station has temporarily stopped operating. When the flood on the Tra Khuc river rose rapidly on October 29, exceeding the alarm level 3, the water flowed back into the Song Dao canal.
