
General Secretary To Lam expressed his sincere gratitude for the positive contributions of the APPG Parliamentary Group to the development of Vietnam-UK relations in many fields, especially culture, education and training, and people-to-people exchanges. Emphasizing that Vietnam and the UK always prioritize comprehensive cooperation through Party, Government, Parliament, and people-to-people channels, the General Secretary stated that the positive results in the development of relations between the two countries would not have been possible without the support and affection of British friends, especially the APPG Parliamentary Group. He added that combining these factors will create a synergistic force to promote people-to-people exchanges and cooperation in politics , diplomacy, economics, trade, and investment, fostering stronger development.
The APPG MPs expressed their affection and attachment to Vietnam, noting that they had visited Vietnam at various times and observed that Vietnam has developed and changed very rapidly in recent years. Supporting and hoping for the further development of relations between Vietnam and the UK, the MPs affirmed that General Secretary To Lam's visit is of great significance to the bilateral relationship, bringing cooperation between the two countries to a new, deeper, and more comprehensive stage. The MPs thanked Vietnam for supporting the UK's participation in the Comprehensive and Progressive Trans -Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).

At the meeting, the MPs expressed their admiration for General Secretary To Lam's speech at Oxford University, which outlined a vision for the future development of Vietnam-UK relations. Responding to the APPG MPs' concerns about priorities for developing bilateral relations in the coming period, General Secretary To Lam emphasized four priorities: strengthening cooperation in trade and investment, science and technology, education and training, and developing an international financial center, making positive contributions to the development and prosperity of each country.
On this occasion, the General Secretary proposed to the UK Parliamentary Group for Friendship with Vietnam to continue maintaining delegation exchanges, promoting cultural, educational, and scientific exchanges, and connecting businesses between the two countries; and to promote exchanges and thematic workshops in the legislative field between specialized committees of the two Parliaments, especially on the development of the international financial market in Vietnam.
