Earlier, at 7:30 PM on December 16th, the Nậm Tăm Commune Police received a report from the public regarding the disappearance of Giàng Văn Hiếu (born in 2021) in the area of Rubber Team No. 3 in the commune. According to the report, that afternoon, Ms. Thào Thị Sáng (born in 2002, residing in Tủa Sín Chải Commune) took her son, Hiếu, with her to work tapping rubber trees in Nậm Lò village, Nậm Tăm Commune. During the work, due to carelessness, Hiếu wandered into the forest. Despite the family's efforts to search, they were unsuccessful.

Immediately after receiving the report, the Nậm Tăm Commune Police Command assessed the situation as extremely urgent because it was already dark, the mountainous terrain was rugged and isolated, and the cold, rainy weather could directly threaten the child's life. With the spirit of "Serving the People," the Nậm Tăm Commune Police mobilized the maximum number of personnel, coordinating with local security forces, rubber plantation workers, and local residents to urgently organize a search.

The forces split into several teams, meticulously searching every rubber plantation, stream, and cave despite the darkness and cold rain. After about 15 hours of searching, at 11:00 AM on December 17th, the forces found Hieu on a hilltop (in plot 136, Nam Lo village), about 2.5km from where he went missing.

When found, Hieu was exhausted, panicked from hunger and cold, and had numerous scratches on his body. Police officers from Nam Tam commune promptly provided first aid, warmed him up, reassured him, and took him to the commune's health center for a check-up. Currently, Hieu's health is stable, and he has been safely returned home.

Following this incident, the police recommend that families, especially those living and working in mountainous and hilly areas, should increase their vigilance, pay close attention to and closely supervise young children to prevent unfortunate accidents and incidents from occurring.
