Immediately after detecting the dangerous situation, Road Management Area III directed the dispatch of forces to the scene, coordinated with functional units to monitor water levels, ensure construction safety, and organize traffic flow, regulation, and guidance.

At 1:15 p.m., as floodwaters continued to rise, the road management unit coordinated with the Quang Ngai Provincial Traffic Police and the Department of Construction to erect barriers, prohibiting all vehicles and people from crossing Chau O Bridge, and at the same time arranged forces on duty at both ends of the bridge.

Mr. Nguyen Phuong Nam said that according to the temporary traffic control plan, vehicles from the North to Doc Soi intersection (Km1028, National Highway 1A) will be redirected to turn left to Dung Quat, then return to National Highway 1A at Binh Long intersection (Km1040+200) and vice versa.

In addition, the authorities also diverted traffic along the Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway, with the boarding point in the North at the Chu Lai - Truong Hai intersection and the dropping point in the South at the end of the expressway.

Currently, Road Management Area III continues to monitor the development of floods and rains to promptly deploy measures to protect works and ensure traffic safety on National Highway 1A.
