Arousing the desire to rise up in the patriotic emulation movement (*)

Thai Nguyen Newspaper, Radio and Television summarizes the speech of comrade Do Van Chien at the 1st Patriotic Emulation Congress of Thai Nguyen province (2025-2030):

- Dear Comrade Nong Duc Manh, former General Secretary of the Party Central Committee,

- Dear Comrade Trinh Xuan Truong, Secretary of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee, together with leaders and former leaders of Thai Nguyen province; leaders of central and local ministries, departments and branches.

- Dear Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, and Labor Heroes of the renovation period.

- Dear delegates, dear congress.

In the atmosphere of the whole country competing enthusiastically, making achievements to welcome the 14th National Congress of the Party; to welcome the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress, today I am very happy and excited with the delegates to attend the 1st Patriotic Emulation Congress of Thai Nguyen province (2025 - 2030). This is a political event of special significance, marking a new development step of the patriotic emulation movement in the homeland of Thai Nguyen, rich in cultural and revolutionary traditions.

On behalf of the Party, State, Central Emulation and Reward Council leaders and with my personal feelings, I would like to send my best regards and congratulations to former General Secretary Nong Duc Manh, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, leaders, delegates and the entire Congress.

Dear delegates, dear Congress!

Before speaking at the Congress, I would like to convey my condolences and sympathies for the difficulties and great losses suffered by the people in the province during the recent storms No. 10 and 11. At the same time, I would like to transfer to the province 30 billion VND (in addition to the amount of 15 billion VND transferred last time), which is the deep sentiment of the people and soldiers nationwide through the channel of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. I hope that you will promptly support the organizations and individuals who suffered losses to soon stabilize production and life.

Dear Congress!

In the joyful, excited and solemn atmosphere of today's Congress, let us together recall the call for patriotic emulation by beloved President Ho Chi Minh: "Emulation is patriotism, patriotism requires emulation, those who emulate are the most patriotic." Uncle Ho's sacred call has become an invaluable source of energy, fostering the will and aspiration to rise up of many generations of Vietnamese people, leading our revolution from one victory to another; so that our country can have the foundation, potential and position on par with the international level as today; so that the renovation initiated and led by our Party can achieve great achievements of historical significance.

Currently, Vietnam ranks 32nd among the economies and is among the 20 countries with the largest trade in the world; our country, which used to lack food, now has enough to eat and exports over 8 million tons of food each year. GDP per capita by the end of 2025 is estimated to reach 5,000 USD.

For Thai Nguyen - a land rich in revolutionary tradition, the center of the heroic Viet Bac base, with strategic advantages in terms of geographical location, resources, and human resources, the patriotic emulation movement has important significance in creating a driving force for sustainable development for the locality.

Through the reports, discussions at the Congress and monitoring over the past years, I highly appreciate the results that the Party Committee and the people in the province have achieved, especially in the patriotic emulation movement in the past 5 years. Those results are vivid evidence of the patriotism, the will to self-reliance and self-strengthening of all classes of people in the province, contributing to the comprehensive development of Thai Nguyen, becoming the center of the midland and mountainous region of the North.

From these emulation movements, many new initiatives, models, good, creative and effective ways of doing things have emerged, which have been honored and widely replicated. In the past 5 years, the President has awarded 160 Medals, 159 Medals of various types; 3 individuals were awarded the title of National Emulation Fighter; 543 collectives and individuals were awarded Emulation Flags, Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister and many other forms of commendation and rewards. These are typical flowers in the brilliant patriotic emulation flower garden of Thai Nguyen homeland.

On behalf of the State leaders and the Central Emulation and Reward Council, I warmly congratulate the achievements that Thai Nguyen province has achieved, and congratulate the typical advanced examples honored at the Patriotic Emulation Congress today. I wish you all good health, continued innovation, creativity, and active contribution to the socio-economic development of the province in the coming time.

Dear Congress!

Our country is entering a new era of building a prosperous, prosperous, civilized and happy country. Thai Nguyen province has just merged with Bac Kan province to expand the development space, with its position as a central province, a strategic bridge between the Northern midland and mountainous region and the Northern Delta, with its homeland tradition and revolutionary base, it will certainly have many important contributions to the implementation of the country's strategic goals.

In that context, I respectfully request Party committees at all levels, authorities, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations in the province to focus on leading and directing the implementation of a number of key tasks for emulation and reward work of the province in the coming time, as follows:

Firstly , continue to thoroughly grasp the thoughts of President Ho Chi Minh, the Party's guidelines, the State's policies and laws on patriotic emulation, especially Directive No. 41-CT/TW dated December 26, 2024 of the Politburo on strengthening the Party's leadership in emulation and reward work in the new situation. Emulation work must be associated with education on patriotic traditions, solidarity, self-reliance and self-improvement so that each cadre, party member, civil servant, public employee and people in the province have a deeper understanding of the meaning and role of patriotic emulation in the cause of national construction and development.

Second , clearly defining emulation and rewards as one of the important contents in the leadership, direction and management of Party committees and authorities at all levels. Each emulation movement must be associated with the political tasks and development goals of each sector and each field; becoming a specific and vivid action program, creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere, demonstrating the proactive, creative and high determination spirit of cadres, Party members and people in the province.

Third , the organization and launching of emulation movements must be associated with the goal of promoting creativity, sense of responsibility and aspiration to contribute of all classes of people; considering it the foundation and driving force to arouse endogenous strength, promote all potentials and resources for development; at the same time, put the interests of the people, the nation and the people above all else.

Fourth , focus on promoting key emulation movements, associated with the implementation of the province's strategic development goals and tasks; consider this as a driving force for rapid and sustainable socio-economic development. All levels and sectors in the province need to proactively propose innovative and breakthrough solutions; mobilize and effectively use resources; take emulation effectiveness as an important criterion to evaluate the capacity and level of task completion of cadres and party members. At the same time, link the province's patriotic emulation movement with the effective implementation of national emulation movements, such as: "The whole country competes in innovation and digital transformation", "Promoting the development of synchronous and modern infrastructure", "The whole country joins hands to build new rural areas", "For the poor - No one is left behind", "The whole country competes in building a learning society, promoting lifelong learning" ...

Fifth , continue to innovate and improve the quality of commendation work, ensuring publicity, democracy, timeliness, and truly effective motivation, education, and setting a profound example. It is necessary to pay attention to commending direct workers, people in remote and isolated areas, and individuals who have made many contributions to emulation movements and major campaigns.

Dear comrades, dear delegates!

Today's Patriotic Emulation Congress is an important milestone, affirming the aspiration to rise up and the spirit of innovation and creativity of the entire Party Committee, government and people in the province.

I believe that, with its glorious revolutionary tradition and the strength of great solidarity, Thai Nguyen will continue to be a bright spot in the patriotic emulation movement, making an important contribution to realizing the goal: "Comprehensively improving people's lives, building Thai Nguyen province into a modern industrial center with high average income before 2030, striving to become a developed province with high income before 2045" , as determined in the Resolution of the 1st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030.

Once again, I would like to wish the leaders, distinguished guests, and advanced models good health, happiness, and success. I wish the 1st Thai Nguyen Province Patriotic Emulation Congress great success!
