Patriotic emulation - the driving force for Thai Nguyen to develop rapidly and sustainably

On the morning of October 30, Thai Nguyen province solemnly organized the 1st Patriotic Emulation Congress, period 2025-2030. The event took place in a vibrant emulation atmosphere to welcome the success of the 1st Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Congress, towards the 14th National Congress of the Party and the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress.

Attending the Congress were comrades: Nong Duc Manh, former General Secretary of the Party Central Committee; Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Vice Chairman of the Central Emulation and Reward Council; leaders of ministries, departments, branches, unions, central agencies; leaders of Military Region 1 and several provinces in the region.

In the opening speech of the Congress, comrade Pham Hoang Son, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Emulation and Reward Council, emphasized: 77 years ago, in Thai Nguyen - the Capital of the Thousand Winds, President Ho Chi Minh issued a call for patriotic emulation, affirming: "Emulation is patriotism, patriotism requires emulation".

In 1952, the first National Congress of Emulation Fighters and Exemplary Cadres was held in Thai Nguyen, becoming an important milestone, stirring up a widespread patriotic emulation movement, contributing to the victory of the resistance war against French colonialism.

Promoting that tradition, the province's emulation movements are increasingly spreading strongly. In the period 2020-2025, the whole province has 160 collectives and individuals awarded Medals by the President; 525 collectives and individuals awarded Emulation Flags and Certificates of Merit by the Prime Minister; more than 25,000 collectives, individuals and households were awarded by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with tens of thousands of advanced models honored at all levels.

With the theme "Solidarity, democracy, innovation, creativity, emulation to build Thai Nguyen to develop rapidly and sustainably", the 1st Provincial Patriotic Emulation Congress (2025-2030) aims to summarize the achieved results, and at the same time propose directions and solutions to continue to innovate, promote the emulation movement and reward work in the coming period.

Comrade Do Van Chien said that these are vivid evidences of the patriotism and self-reliance of the people of all classes in the province. He emphasized: The country is entering a new era of development, moving towards prosperity, civilization and happiness.

In that context, Thai Nguyen, after merging with Bac Kan, with its central location, a strategic bridge between the Northern Midlands and Mountains and the Northern Delta, and its heroic revolutionary tradition, will make an important contribution to the country's development.

The Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front requested Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations to continue to thoroughly grasp President Ho Chi Minh's thoughts and Directive 41 of the Politburo on emulation and rewards; linking emulation with patriotism, the spirit of solidarity, self-reliance and self-improvement, so that each cadre, party member and worker can better understand the role of emulation in development.

Emulation and rewards must be considered as the core content in leadership, direction and management, linked to the specific tasks and goals of each industry and locality, creating a vibrant atmosphere, creative spirit and high determination. Emulation movements need to aim at promoting creativity, the desire to contribute, arousing endogenous strength and mobilizing all resources for development.

He suggested that Thai Nguyen promote key emulation movements, associated with national movements such as "Innovation and digital transformation," "Building new rural areas," "For the poor - leaving no one behind"; at the same time, improve the quality of rewards, ensure publicity, democracy, timeliness, and care for direct workers in remote and isolated areas.

On this occasion, the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front expressed his deep sympathy and sympathy for the heavy losses that the people of Thai Nguyen had to suffer in the recent storms No. 10 and 11. He said that the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front will continue to transfer 30 billion VND in support to help the province overcome the consequences of natural disasters, demonstrating the sentiments and responsibility of the people and soldiers nationwide towards Thai Nguyen.

He added that a business has donated 1 billion VND through the Vietnam Fatherland Front to help Na Ri Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities overcome flood damage, contributing to the early stabilization of teaching and learning for teachers and students at the school.

Receiving the direction of the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Trinh Xuan Truong respectfully thanked the Central Committee for its attention and guidance and affirmed the determination of the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in Thai Nguyen province in the new development period.

Thai Nguyen province was honored to receive the Government's Emulation Flag for its outstanding achievements in the 2024 emulation movement of the Red River Delta and Midlands Provinces Cluster.

24 individuals with outstanding achievements were awarded the Third Class Labor Medal by the President; 11 collectives with outstanding achievements, leading the patriotic emulation movement in 2024 and the 2024-2025 school year of Thai Nguyen province were awarded the Emulation Flag of the Government; 1 collective and 19 individuals with outstanding achievements in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style, in the emulation movement "The whole country joins hands to build new rural areas" in the period 2021-2025, the emulation movement "For the poor - No one is left behind" in the period 2021-2025, the emulation movement "Join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide in 2025" and outstanding achievements in work, contributing to the cause of building socialism and defending the Fatherland were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Prime Minister; 7 collectives and 17 individuals with achievements in flood and storm prevention, rescue and overcoming the consequences of storm No. 11 in the province received Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Teacher Nong Thi Tuyet, Principal of Na Ri Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, shared about the process of working with local people to evacuate more than 270 students from the flood area during the recent storm No. 11.

The highlight of the Congress was the exchange program, meeting with advanced models, ordinary people but with the desire to contribute, namely: Major Truong Quoc Duoc, Deputy Captain of Fire Fighting and Rescue Team No. 1 of Thai Nguyen Provincial Police - who threw himself into the floodwaters to save people during storm No. 11. Teacher Nong Thi Tuyet, Principal of Na Ri Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities - who, together with the people, organized to bring more than 270 students out of the danger zone during the storm. Mr. Nguyen Van Thoi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of TNG Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company; Associate Professor, Dr. Phung Trung Nghia, Principal of the University of Information Technology and Communications - Thai Nguyen University, with practical contributions in production, business, training and innovation.

From the spirit and momentum of the Congress, Comrade Pham Hoang Son, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Emulation and Reward Council, launched the patriotic emulation movement for the period 2025-2030, calling on the whole province to compete to excellently complete the goals, targets and tasks of the Resolution of the 1st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: The patriotic emulation movement for the period 2025-2030 with the goal and task of "Strengthening the building of a clean and strong Party and political system, streamlining the apparatus, operating effectively and efficiently; ensuring national defense and security; promoting the tradition of solidarity, breakthroughs in rapid, unique and sustainable development; building a synchronous and modern infrastructure; developing high-quality human resources; comprehensively improving people's lives, building Thai Nguyen province into a modern industrial center with high average income before 2030, striving to become a developed province with high income before 2045".

All levels, sectors and localities need to organize regular and thematic emulation movements, linked to socio-economic development goals, solving key and urgent issues, while discovering, fostering and replicating advanced models.

The work of propagating and honoring good people and good deeds needs to be innovated in a practical and effective way, creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere throughout the province. The work of commendation is innovated, public, transparent, timely, focusing on direct workers, while promoting administrative reform, applying information technology, building databases, closely checking and monitoring, contributing to improving the effectiveness of the patriotic emulation movement in the new period.

At the Congress, Comrade Vu Duy Hoang, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, spoke in response to launching the emulation movement for the period 2025-2030. The Congress approved the list of Thai Nguyen Provincial Delegation to attend the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress, including 21 outstanding individuals.
