
In recent days, floods from the upper reaches of the Perfume River, along with prolonged heavy rains, have inundated the Hue Citadel, with many historical relics submerged up to 2 meters deep.

On the afternoon of October 29, the Citadel area was still surrounded by water on all sides. After reaching its peak on the night of October 27, the flood level of the Perfume River slowly receded.

The Imperial Citadel Heritage Site is flooded 1 meter deep; the relics and palaces are flooded about 0.3 meters deep.

Relic sites next to the Imperial Citadel such as Quoc Tu Giam and Long An Palace were also heavily flooded; the Tang Tho Tower relic was flooded more than 1 meter deep.

According to the People's Committee of Hue City, prolonged heavy rains caused the water level on the Huong River and Bo River to rise, overflowing, causing widespread flooding in 32 communes and wards, many of which were 1-2 meters deep.





In the entire city of Hue, more than 44,500 houses were flooded, many inner-city roads were cut off, and traffic was almost paralyzed during the two peak days of October 27 and 28.

This is one of the floods with the largest intensity and rainfall in many years, seriously affecting people's lives and urban infrastructure.

Authorities worked overnight to evacuate many households in low-lying areas in the center such as Chi Lang, Tran Quang Khai, Nguyen Huu Canh, and Bui Thi Xuan streets.

The section passing through Aeon Mall and the areas of Thuan Hoa, Phu Xuan, Vy Da, An Cuu, Kim Long wards... almost all roads were submerged by floodwaters, traffic was cut off. People had to travel by boat.

A series of cars were isolated in one place for many days at the Sports and Culture Square (Xuan Phu Square).

The urban area in the Southeast of Hue City is in a similar situation.
