| A section of Phan Dinh Phung street, thick with mud, was cleaned on the afternoon of October 30th. |
Today, the floodwaters have receded, leaving behind a thick layer of mud and debris that has accumulated in many houses and inner-city streets of Hue City.
As soon as the floodwaters receded, Hue Urban Environment and Construction Joint Stock Company (HEPCO) proactively implemented waste collection and urban sanitation plans to protect the environment and prevent the risk of disease outbreaks.
The work is being carried out in a phased manner, "collecting waste as the floodwaters recede," prioritizing central areas, markets, schools, and hospitals.
According to a representative from HEPCO, they proactively developed flood response plans early on, so the collection and environmental sanitation work was implemented very proactively.
The company has deployed hundreds of personnel and numerous vehicles to collect garbage in the highland areas and central routes where the water has receded. Simultaneously, HEPCO has prepared equipment such as water trucks, sewer cleaning trucks, excavators, pumps, and personnel to carry out the task of clearing mud and debris from roads along the rivers, which often have large amounts of mud.
