Opening ceremony of a series of activities at the Culture, Sports and Tourism Week

* Trade Promotion Fair - Rural Industrial Products and OCOP

This is one of the events of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Week celebrating the Ok Om Bok Festival 2025 taking place at Nguyet Hoa Ward Square, attracting a large number of people from inside and outside the province to visit and shop. The fair takes place from October 30 to November 5, 2025.

Attending the opening ceremony were comrades: Kim Ngoc Thai - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Le Van Han - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Nguyen Quynh Thien - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with representatives of leaders and former leaders of different periods; representatives of leaders of provincial departments, branches and enterprises inside and outside the province.

The fair attracted over 100 units from provinces and cities in the region with 300 booths displaying rural industrial products, OCOP, consumer goods, handicrafts, garments, food... In particular, the Organizing Committee supported free booths for Khmer people and the "Startup Market" area to encourage creativity, promote startups and connect investments.

In his opening speech, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Quynh Thien emphasized: The fair is an important opportunity for businesses to promote their products, expand markets, stimulate consumption, create momentum for production and economic growth. The province is committed to creating all favorable conditions for trade promotion activities to take place successfully, safely and effectively; at the same time, bringing visitors unique cultural - culinary - tourism experiences of the province.

The fair is an important trade promotion activity, part of the province's series of cultural, sports and tourism events, creating opportunities for businesses, cooperatives and production establishments to promote, connect and consume products. This is also an opportunity to introduce typical rural industrial products and local OCOP products, contributing to promoting socio-economic development.

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee mobilized businesses and donors to present 5 charity houses (50 million VND/house); 20 scholarships and 1 ton of rice to students and households in difficult circumstances with a total amount of 290 million VND.

* Exhibition space for Southern tourism and cuisine

At Tra Vinh Sports Training and Competition Center (Nguyet Hoa Ward), the Organizing Committee of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Week welcoming the Ok Om Bok Festival 2025 opened the Tourism Exhibition Space "Vinh Long - Land of Convergence - One Road, Three Destinations" and the Southern Cuisine Space of Vinh Long Province 2025.

Attending the opening ceremony were comrades: Kien Soc Kha - Provincial Party Committee member, Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Pham Minh Truyen - Provincial Party Committee member, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment; Thach Mu Ni - Deputy Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions; Nguyen Thi Ngoc Dung - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The tourism exhibition space "Vinh Long - Land of Convergence - One route, three destinations" and the Southern Cuisine Space of Vinh Long province in 2025 aim to honor and promote the cultural, tourism and culinary values typical of the Southern region.

Southern culinary space gathers 40 booths with many delicious dishes and local specialties for visitors to enjoy and experience.

In addition, the tourism exhibition area includes 12 booths introducing typical tourism products and attractive destinations of Vinh Long and provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta region.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Dung - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism emphasized: The event not only contributes to arousing pride in national cultural identity, but also creates a bridge for exchange and cooperation between localities, businesses and tourists. This is an opportunity to promote the image, promote tourism development, and contribute to affirming the role of culture - tourism in the socio-economic development of Vinh Long province.

The Southern Vietnam Tourism and Cuisine Exhibition Space will take place until November 5.
