Recall the entire batch of Coix medicinal herbs

On October 30, Lam Dong Provincial Department of Health notified relevant units about the recall of Coix medicinal herbs that do not meet quality standards, violating quality level 1.

The Inspection and Legal Department of Lam Dong Provincial Department of Health inspects medicinal herbs at a private traditional medicine clinic.

Accordingly, the Department of Traditional Medicine Management is required to recall the entire batch of Coix medicinal herbs traded by the Traditional Medicine Clinic (Doctor Luong Manh Tuan), located in Cho village, Xuan Van commune, Tuyen Quang province. This batch of medicinal herbs has unknown origin and does not meet the quality standards of the "descriptive" and "qualitative" criteria according to the Vietnamese Pharmacopoeia Standard V, violating quality level 1.

The Department of Health requests medicinal herb businesses, medical examination and treatment facilities to urgently inspect and review batches of medicinal herbs that violate the above-mentioned level 1 quality standards; immediately stop trading, selling, and using batches of medicinal herbs that violate the above-mentioned standards; quarantine remaining medicinal herbs at the unit, contact and receive returned products from the supplier; recall and handle batches of medicinal herbs that violate the above-mentioned standards, and report the results to the Department of Health.

Lam Dong Provincial Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Testing Center strengthens the monitoring of medicinal herbs quality and sampling for testing in the area, especially reviewing the above mentioned medicinal herbs.

The Department of Culture and Society of wards, communes and special zones in the province shall coordinate with competent agencies to strengthen the inspection of medicinal herb trading establishments and traditional medicine examination and treatment establishments in the management area; strictly handle violations according to their authority or transfer them to competent agencies for handling according to the provisions of law.

The Inspection and Legal Department, Department of Health, in coordination with relevant agencies, shall strengthen the inspection of medicinal herb trading establishments and traditional medicine examination and treatment establishments; strictly handle violations within their authority or transfer them to relevant agencies for handling according to regulations.
