On October 28, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov emphasized that Russia desires to build a common security structure for the entire Eurasian region and does not exclude any country on the continent.
According to the Vietnam News Agency correspondent in Russia, speaking after the plenary session of the International Conference on Eurasian Security in Minsk, Belarus, the head of Russian diplomacy affirmed that Russia always keeps its doors open for cooperation with all countries in the world.
He emphasized that the most important thing in international relations is cooperation based on fairness and honesty, and not stemming from the calculations or unilateral interests of any party.
Foreign Minister Lavrov argued that, given the interdependence of all nations, their economies , and their overall stability, the world needs a new philosophy of interstate cooperation and should strive towards building a new multipolar Eurasian space – something Russia has long taken the first steps toward.
To illustrate Moscow's cooperative orientation, Foreign Minister Lavrov recalled that at the 2015 Russia-ASEAN Summit, Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed developing a broader Eurasian partnership, aiming to create an equal and mutually beneficial framework for cooperation across the continent, through expanding trade and economic relations, as well as harmonizing integration processes.

Just one year ago, the Russian leader launched an initiative to build an Eurasian security architecture based on the principle of indivisibility, which Moscow sees as “a constructive alternative to the old institutions serving the Euro-Atlantic model.”
Regarding Russia-US relations, Foreign Minister Lavrov stated that Moscow also needs assurances that the meeting between President Putin and his US counterpart Donald Trump in Anchorage, Alaska, in August of this year will yield concrete results.
According to Lavrov, at this meeting, the Russian side reaffirmed its understanding and support for the proposals put forward by US President's Special Envoy Steven Witkoff in Moscow a week earlier. However, Russia is still awaiting confirmation from the US side regarding these proposals.
The statement comes after President Trump said a US-Russia summit could take place if he receives “assurance” that an agreement on the Ukraine issue can be reached.
