On October 28, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov emphasized that Russia wants to build a common security structure for the entire Eurasian region and does not exclude any country on the continent.
According to a VNA correspondent in Russia, speaking after the plenary session of the International Conference on Eurasian Security in the Belarusian capital Minsk, the head of Russian diplomacy affirmed that the country is always open to cooperation with all countries in the world.
He emphasized that the most important thing in international relations is cooperation based on the spirit of fairness and honesty, not stemming from the calculations or unilateral interests of any party.
Foreign Minister Lavrov said that in the context of the interdependence of all countries, their economies and their overall stability, the world needs a new philosophy of interstate cooperation and needs to move towards building a new Eurasian space in the spirit of multipolarity - something that Russia has long taken the first steps towards.
To demonstrate Moscow's cooperation orientation, Foreign Minister Lavrov recalled that at the 2015 Russia-ASEAN Summit, Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed developing a larger Eurasian partnership, aiming at creating a framework of equal and mutually beneficial cooperation across the continent, through expanding trade and economic relations, as well as harmonizing integration processes.

Just a year ago, the Russian leader proposed an initiative to build a Eurasian security architecture based on the principle of indivisibility, which Moscow sees as “a constructive alternative to the old institutions serving the Euro-Atlantic model.”
Regarding Russia-US relations, Foreign Minister Lavrov said Moscow also needs assurances that the meeting between President Putin and his US counterpart Donald Trump in August this year in Anchorage, Alaska (USA), will bring specific results.
According to Mr. Lavrov, at this meeting, the Russian side confirmed the correct understanding and support for the proposals that US Presidential Special Envoy Steven Witkoff made in Moscow a week earlier. However, up to now, Russia is still waiting for confirmation from the US side about these proposals.
The statement was made after President Trump said a Russia-US summit could take place if he received “assurances” that an agreement on the Ukraine issue could be reached./.
