For the past 12 years, teacher Tran Dai Nghia and his wife, originally from Phuc Trach commune, have lived in the teachers' dormitory of Ha Linh Secondary School. Worryingly, the dormitory is in serious disrepair: the roof is leaking, the walls are peeling, the floor is damp, and the electrical and water systems are makeshift.
Teacher Tran Dai Nghia shared: “For many years, my family has had to live in a cramped 15m² dormitory room. What's more, the room my family lives in, and the dormitory complex in general, is in a state of serious disrepair. Whenever it rains heavily, water leaks everywhere, the floor remains damp for extended periods, which is very inconvenient and poses a safety risk. We only hope that the dormitory complex will be repaired or rebuilt soon so that we can work with peace of mind and remain committed to the school for the long term.”

For 11 years working at Ha Linh Secondary School, teacher Le Thi Hoa Hai, originally from Cam Binh commune, has been closely associated with the school's boarding facility. Due to the long distance from her home to school, she lived in the boarding facility for the first five years to facilitate her teaching. In recent years, with better transportation options, she switched to the semi-boarding program, but still regularly resides in the boarding facility.
What constantly worries teacher Le Thi Hoa Hai is the long-standing deterioration and dampness of the dormitory. Leaky roofs, peeling walls, and damp floors not only cause inconvenience in daily life but also pose potential health risks, especially during the rainy season. This reality makes many teachers, like her, who live far away, eagerly hope that the dormitory will soon be repaired and upgraded so that they can have safe and stable accommodation and focus on their long-term work.

Ha Linh Secondary School has 28 staff and teachers, but only 6 live locally; the rest reside in Huong Khe, Phuc Trach, Cam Binh communes and Thanh Sen ward... Thus, many teachers working here live 20 to 40 km away from home. Since the school organizes two-session teaching per day, many teachers need boarding and dormitory accommodation. Currently, the dormitory houses 4 families and 12 teachers. However, this dormitory was built over 20 years ago and is located in an area frequently affected by floods, so it has seriously deteriorated.

Mr. Le Huu Viet, Principal of Ha Linh Secondary School in Ha Tinh province, said: “We are very concerned and worried about the deteriorating condition of the boarding school. This situation directly affects the lives and psychology of teachers who live far away, especially those whose families have to live in the boarding school for a long time. Given the limited facilities, the school has proactively taken temporary measures, but these are only temporary solutions.”

The current state of disrepair at the teachers' dormitory of Ha Linh Secondary School highlights the urgent need for prompt repair, upgrading, or new construction. This is not only a solution to ensure safety and minimum living conditions for teachers who live far away, but also helps teachers feel secure in their work and commit to the education career in their local area in the long term.
