This season, Ms. Bui Thi Xoan's family cultivated over 1 sao (approximately 1000 square meters) of vegetables. Over the years, the income from winter and Tet (Lunar New Year) vegetable production has brought her family more than 15 million VND. Ms. Xoan said: "The impact of typhoon number 10 slowed down the winter crop production. However, as soon as the floodwaters receded and the land dried, we farmers quickly resumed production. Because the Tet season is always the most important season of the year due to the strong demand for clean vegetables."

To ensure supply, Mrs. Phan Thi Huong's family (from the same village) also planted earlier and chose vegetables with short growing periods and high yields. Although it was hard work, the prices were usually more stable, and everyone was happy.

After a month of diligent labor and passion for the land, the family's cabbage plots are ready for harvest. On average, Mrs. Huong's family sells 100-120 bunches to the market each day, with wholesale prices ranging from 5,000 to 7,000 VND per bunch. Each day, households in Quyet Tien village, Duc Quang commune, earn between 500,000 and 700,000 VND from these short-term vegetable crops.

The entire Duc Quang commune currently has over 50 hectares of land for winter and spring vegetable production in the fields, with approximately 300 households involved. This is mainly concentrated in Quyet Tien village. Of this, about 30 hectares are dedicated to producing safe vegetables for the Lunar New Year. To ensure efficient crop rotation between now and Tet, farmers in Duc Quang commune have been intercropping various types of leafy greens and herbs, combined with long-term vegetable varieties such as cabbage, kohlrabi, potatoes, and carrots.

The rows of lush green vegetables stretch as far as the eye can see, creating a vibrant scene of production. The sound of plows, the cheerful chatter, and the scent of freshly tilled soil combine to make the atmosphere of production in the vegetable fields of Quyet Tien village, Duc Quang commune, even more bustling.

Mr. Bui Ngoc Bien, Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Duc Quang commune, said: Thanks to timely production and adherence to procedures, most of the vegetable production area has been completed by now. Not only does it create a stable source of income, but the Tet vegetable crop also gives farmers more motivation to invest in sustainable production, contributing to enhancing the brand of safe vegetables in the locality.
