PV: Comrade, the period from 2022 to 2025 is a time when the province will implement many major policies, including the reorganization of administrative units and streamlining of the apparatus according to the two-tiered local government model. In this context, could you please tell us what key solutions the Provincial Veterans Association has implemented to continue promoting the core role and affirming the position of the veteran force in the new situation?

Comrade Vu Cong Tien: The period 2022-2025 presents many new demands for the association's work as the province implements administrative unit restructuring and organizational consolidation according to the two-tiered local government model. After the restructuring, Lam Dong has become the largest province in the country in terms of area with 124 administrative units; the Provincial Veterans Association has more than 63,000 members and nearly 2,800 branches. The large scale and high number of members require leadership, guidance, and management to be more innovative, scientific , and flexible.
In that spirit, the Provincial Veterans Association quickly stabilized its organization and strengthened its staff at all levels; it did a good job in ideological work, ensuring unity throughout the system. The Association also established and strengthened emulation councils at the provincial and commune levels; issued operational regulations, and focused on innovating emulation and reward methods. In particular, the Association promoted the application of information technology and digital transformation in management and leadership, helping to grasp and reflect the situation at the grassroots level in a timely and accurate manner. Thanks to these comprehensive solutions, the Association's activities quickly became well-organized, meeting the requirements of the new phase, and continuing to affirm the role, position, and prestige of the veteran force in social life.

PV: With those efforts, could you please tell us what outstanding results the Lam Dong Veterans Association has achieved, especially in emulation movements such as "Exemplary Veterans" and "Veterans Helping Each Other Reduce Poverty and Excel in Economic Activities"?
Comrade Vu Cong Tien: In response to the movement "Veterans helping each other reduce poverty and excel in economic activities," the association has implemented the project "Developing the economy, reducing poverty quickly and sustainably," fostering a spirit of self-reliance and cooperation among members. Association branches at all levels have mobilized resources and supported members in developing production, forming many economic models suitable for each sector.
The Provincial Veterans Association has established the Provincial Veterans Entrepreneurs Club and 12 Veterans' Economic Clubs; currently, there are 64 cooperatives, over 120 small and medium-sized enterprises, nearly 150 cooperative groups, over 1,000 farms and family farms, and nearly 1,800 business households owned by veterans, creating stable jobs for many members and their children. Many models applying high-tech agriculture and production along the value chain have brought clear economic benefits.
Savings and loan cooperatives have helped members access capital more easily; funds contributed by members are managed flexibly, providing timely support for production and business needs. As a result, the percentage of poor member households has decreased to just over 320 households (0.52%), near-poor households to over 470 households (0.75%); and the percentage of well-off and wealthy households has increased to over 54%.
Improved living standards have also motivated members to actively participate in the "Exemplary Veterans" movement, joining hands to build their homeland. During the past term, members throughout the province donated 108,000 m² of land, contributed over 5 billion VND and 41,200 man-days to the construction of new rural areas; supported the "Week of Saving Money for the Poor" with over 49 billion VND; and assisted in the construction and repair of over 350 "Comradeship Houses" with a total cost of nearly 22 billion VND. Models for environmental protection, building a cultural life, and maintaining security and order continue to be effectively maintained. Particularly, during the recent floods, the various levels of the association promptly mobilized support for members and people in Lam Dong and Central Vietnam with nearly 580 million VND, nearly 330 tons of agricultural products, and tens of tons of essential goods, totaling over 2.7 billion VND.
PV: The first Provincial Veterans Association Congress, for the 2025-2030 term, has set many new goals. Could you share more details about the vision and key solutions for the association to continue upholding the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" and accompanying the province's development in the coming period?
Comrade Vu Cong Tien: To successfully achieve the goals of the 2025-2030 term, the association has identified a consistent vision: to build a stronger and more robust Provincial Veterans Association, contributing to the overall development of the province.
First and foremost, the association focuses on mobilizing members to continue upholding the tradition of "Loyalty - Unity - Exemplary Conduct - Innovation"; fostering a spirit of self-reliance, self-improvement, and proactive integration. Alongside this, it aims to enhance leadership capacity and cultivate a team of cadres and members with strong political convictions, meeting the requirements for building a comprehensively strong association.
The association also continues to promote the movement "Veterans helping each other reduce poverty and excel in economic activities," fostering a spirit of mutual support and solidarity. Association branches at all levels mobilize the establishment and effective use of the "Comradeship Fund"; advise and support members in accessing preferential capital sources; and organize training to improve production and business skills for members.
In the new term, building upon the activities of the Provincial Veteran Entrepreneurs Club, the association will develop into the Provincial Veteran Entrepreneurs Association with a larger scale and greater initiative, creating momentum to promote production and business among veterans. Through this, it will contribute to helping members overcome poverty, achieve legitimate wealth, and make practical contributions to the overall development of the locality.
PV: In this era of national progress, the Provincial Veterans Association is expected to continue spreading the aspiration for development, strengthening faith, and educating the younger generation about traditions. What message would you like to convey to the more than 63,000 veteran members to contribute to building a more prosperous, beautiful, and civilized Lam Dong?
Comrade Vu Cong Tien: Veterans are a force that has matured in combat, possessing courage, experience, and training in the military environment. The Association is considered a reliable support for the Party, the State, and the People. Therefore, each veteran needs to continue to uphold the revolutionary tradition and the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers"; maintain a spirit of pride and responsibility, and set an example in all fields.
In the new context, all levels of the association must innovate their working methods, strengthen the application of digital technology; actively combat erroneous viewpoints, and protect the ideological foundation of the Party. At the same time, they must focus on gathering and motivating members to support each other in economic development and improving their living standards; achieving the goal of sustainable poverty reduction; and building strong association organizations from the grassroots level.
The Association will continue to effectively implement three key projects: improving the quality of the Association's activities; supporting economic development and improving the lives of its members; and building a culture of veterans in the new context. Implementing these tasks in a coordinated manner will contribute to promoting the role of veterans in emulation movements and working together to build a sustainably developed Lam Dong province.
PV: Thank you very much, Comrade!
