According to Pham Van Tuyen, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Internal Affairs, Ho Chi Minh City is currently managing 385,000 files of people with meritorious service and their relatives, including more than 45,200 individuals receiving monthly allowances totaling over 131 billion VND per month. Ho Chi Minh City has reviewed all policies for people with meritorious service to develop and implement them uniformly throughout the city through resolutions and specific regulations.

In preparation for the 2026 Lunar New Year, the department has advised the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to organize many activities to care for the material, spiritual, and health well-being of policy beneficiaries, including those who have rendered meritorious services to the revolution, with a total estimated budget of over 2,300 billion VND.
In addition, the city continues to review, develop, and issue policies to ensure that the care for people with meritorious service is improved, with a living standard equal to or higher than the average living standard of the people in their place of residence.
On this occasion, Ho Chi Minh City and Nghe An province also presented gifts to the delegates of outstanding meritorious individuals from Ho Chi Minh City.
* Earlier that morning, the delegation visited and offered flowers and incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the Dong Loc Crossroads National Special Historical Site ( Ha Tinh province). There, the delegation laid flowers and offered incense at the graves of the 10 female youth volunteer heroes who bravely sacrificed their lives at Dong Loc Crossroads.
