Free medical examinations and medication were provided to nearly 200 residents of Phong Quang commune.

On May 19th, at the Phong Quang Health Station in Phong Quang commune, Thai Nguyen province, the Red Cross Society of Thai Nguyen province, in coordination with sponsors and relevant units, organized a program to donate medicine and provide free medical examinations for war veterans and the elderly in the commune.

At the event, representatives from the Provincial Red Cross Society donated medicine worth over 33 million VND.

This is a meaningful activity to mark the launch of the Community Health Care Center and the Center for Health Care for the Elderly and those who have rendered meritorious service to the nation in the locality.

At the program, participating units donated medicines and provided financial support for healthcare totaling over 60 million VND, contributing to improving the quality of healthcare for people in mountainous areas, especially policy beneficiaries, the elderly, and those who have rendered meritorious services to the revolution.

As part of the program, nearly 200 war veterans and elderly people in Phong Quang commune received free general health check-ups from doctors and medical staff. The check-ups included clinical examination, blood pressure measurement, height and weight checks; and advice on preventing and controlling hypertension, diabetes, and other common non-communicable diseases in the elderly.

Many people who contributed to the revolution and the elderly received general health check-ups on this occasion.

In addition, doctors and medical staff provide advice on appropriate nutrition, lifestyle, and exercise to help the elderly improve their health and prevent diseases. People are also guided on using electronic health records and installing health care applications to conveniently monitor their personal health status. Those who need it are provided with common medications appropriate to their actual health condition.

On this occasion, the Community Health Care and Elderly Care Center of Phong Quang commune was launched and put into operation, aiming to gradually improve the quality of primary healthcare for the people, especially vulnerable groups in the highlands; and at the same time contribute to promoting humanitarian and social welfare activities in the locality.
