The key to building open education.

Digital transformation plays a crucial role, both in improving the efficiency of management and education, and in creating new approaches to knowledge acquisition for students.

In order to keep up with the general trend, localities in the southern part of the city have recently paid attention to digital transformation and have made initial investments in digital infrastructure, including many schools that have invested in digital classrooms, STEM classrooms, and digital libraries.

Teachers have also begun to effectively apply digital technology and AI technology to teaching. In management, schools have implemented digital signatures, digital student records, online enrollment, and cashless fee collection…

According to Mr. Tran Van Ha, Deputy Head of the Culture and Social Affairs Department, in charge of education in Tam Ky ward, in the current context of technological development, students have the opportunity to access open learning resources, such as learning through videos and interacting with teachers through digital platforms…

It can be said that digital transformation is the "key" to building a more open, flexible, and equitable education system. In particular, it helps students not only learn literacy but also acquire digital and adaptive skills. These are the core competencies of 21st-century citizens.

First and foremost, it must be clearly understood that digital transformation is not just about applying information technology, but about a change in mindset and working methods. The entire team, from administrators, teachers, staff, students, and parents, must also clearly understand the position and role of digital transformation in order to work together and implement it.

In particular, focus should be placed on training, popularizing, and enhancing digital skills for administrators and teachers, enabling their application in management and teaching.

Furthermore, in addition to maintaining existing digital infrastructure such as digital libraries, digital classrooms, STEM classrooms, etc., it is also necessary to invest in and research new models such as mobile digital libraries and smart digital reading rooms.

Teachers should be encouraged to increasingly apply digital technology to lesson design, focusing on enhancing interactivity. Simultaneously, the socialization of digital transformation should be promoted to mobilize all resources for investment and support in educational digital transformation.

Transform lessons into experiential journeys.

At Huynh Thuc Khang Secondary School (Tam Ky ward), the storage of records, notebooks, lesson plans, subject group plans, and student report cards is 100% digitized. The school synchronizes many records to an online system, and leaders manage through multiple channels such as internal communication, the electronic portal, and the camera system.

According to Mr. Nguyen Sam, the school's Vice Principal, regarding management and administration, the school has implemented e-government and e-government management; even the management of assets, finances, equipment, and the library is done through electronic software.

Regarding professional work, the school implements digital student records; student assessment in some subjects is conducted through useful software. To create connection and interaction, the school uses its website and platforms such as Facebook and Fanpage to publicly transmit information, documents, reports, assignments, work schedules, etc., in the digital space.

Digital transformation is not limited to higher education levels; it's present right from primary school, where students are quite young and just beginning to become familiar with technology.

Ms. Tran Thi An, Principal of Le Van Tam Primary School (Huong Tra Ward), shared: “For primary school, digital transformation is a very special process. Because the children are still young, their thinking is mainly visual. Therefore, it requires teachers to make a great effort, referencing the digital transformation competency framework to build lesson plans suitable for primary school age; and to integrate digital technology into education in a gentle, natural, and effective way.”

According to Ms. Tran Diem Cam Tu, a teacher at Ngo Quyen Primary School (Quang Phu Ward), applying technology to teaching helps students become more proactive and engaged in acquiring knowledge, and makes lessons more lively.

For example, in Vietnamese language lessons, teachers design game-based activities for students to participate in live competitions on the screen, combining learning and play, creating a lively classroom atmosphere. Similarly, in science classes, the use of videos, illustrations, and virtual experiment simulations helps students visualize and remember knowledge clearly.

The lessons are also shared by teachers on the class group Zalo so that parents can stay informed and feel more confident about the content their children are learning at school.

"Applying technology to teaching helps teachers become closer to students and students learn better. Each lesson becomes an experiential journey, where students and teachers participate together, supporting each other in exploration," shared Ms. Diem Tu.
