With the action slogan " An Giang youth: courageous, united, creative, aspirational, and developing," the Congress was attended by 289 official delegates representing more than 200,000 youth union members and young people throughout the province.
According to the An Giang Provincial Youth Union, in the three years from 2022-2025, 19 out of 25 important targets of the 2022-2027 term were achieved or exceeded by the Youth Union branches of An Giang and Kien Giang provinces before the merger, with the remaining targets also achieving high results. The work of educating young people on revolutionary ideals, ethics, and lifestyles was implemented synchronously by all levels of the Youth Union, linked to the requirements of digital transformation, helping to enhance the spirit, responsibility, and awareness of law compliance among young people in the new era.
Notably, three major movements (Youth Volunteerism, Youth Creativity, and Youth Vanguard in Defending the Fatherland) have spread strongly, creating a prominent mark of An Giang's youth and contributing to changing the face of the locality.
The spirit of "remembering the source of the water you drink" and compassion for the community has also been promoted by the youth of An Giang through many charitable programs: "Spring Volunteer Program," "March Border Program," "Tet on the Islands," "Young Doctors Volunteering for Community Health," etc. More than 10,000 gifts worth over 5 billion VND have been distributed; more than 60,000 units of blood have been donated; thousands of temporary houses have been demolished or repaired; and more than 31,000 disadvantaged children have received support.
Through these movements, many outstanding youth union members were recommended to the Party for consideration, and nearly 9,200 youth union members were admitted to the Party.
During the period 2025-2030, the An Giang Provincial Youth Union will continue to uphold the traditions of its homeland, strive to study, work creatively, volunteer for the community, build and protect the homeland, and make An Giang a relatively developed locality in the country.
Specifically, the focus is on five key tasks: building a generation of patriotic, courageous, knowledgeable, and responsible young people; pioneering in digital transformation, innovation, and the development of a knowledge-based economy; spearheading socio-economic development, national defense, and social welfare; caring for, educating, and protecting children and adolescents; and emphasizing the building of a truly strong, flexible, modern, and youth-oriented Youth Union organization.
Speaking at the Congress, the Standing Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union and President of the Vietnam Student Association, Nguyen Minh Triet, suggested that the An Giang Provincial Youth Union should focus on preserving, nurturing, and revitalizing historical and cultural values, so that each Youth Union member and young person clearly understands their responsibility and pride in their homeland; be close to the people, close to the grassroots, and close to the digital space; dare to innovate and dare to take responsibility.
Continuing to build a strong and comprehensive Youth Union organization from the grassroots level, with people and methods of action at the center, is a key task that will determine the quality of Youth Union work in the new term.
The focus should be on building a team of youth union officials who are pioneers, capable of planning and organizing practical and effective revolutionary movements, serving as shining examples to inspire and unite young people, and possessing the capacity to fulfill the requirements and tasks of youth work in the new revolutionary period.
Working closely with agencies and units, mobilizing resources and implementing programs to support young people in starting and developing businesses in socio-economic fields, tourism, agriculture, technology, and marine economy, contributing to the construction and development of a stronger and more prosperous homeland…
The Congress adopted the decisions of the Central Secretariat of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union regarding the appointment of the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Inspection Committee, Chairman, and Deputy Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of An Giang province, term I, 2025-2030; the appointment of Mr. Phan Duy Bang as Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of An Giang province, term I, 2025-2030; and the appointment of delegates to the 13th National Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, term 2026-2031.
