Ho Chi Minh City student futsal tournament kicks off with 12 teams

(NLDO) - The 2025 Ho Chi Minh City Student HDBank Futsal Tournament with 12 participating teams from universities in the area promises to bring dramatic matches.

The tournament was organized by the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City University and Professional Sports Association and Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry Gymnasium (Linh Xuan Ward), from November 4 to 12.

The teams will be divided into 4 groups, competing in a round robin to select 8 teams to enter the quarterfinals. Participating in this year's tournament are many large universities such as: People's Security University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry, RMIT University Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City Open University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Law,FPT University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports, Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages ​​and Information Technology, Saigon University of Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, Ho Chi Minh City University of Banking and Swinburne University Vietnam Alliance Program.

VOV Deputy General Director Vu Hai Quang said the tournament is not only a sports playground but also an environment to help students practice physical fitness, team spirit and the will to overcome difficulties.

Meanwhile, Associate Professor Dr. Chau Vinh Huy, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City University and Professional Sports Association, emphasized that futsal is a sport suitable for the school environment, contributing to discovering young talents for Vietnamese futsal.

Representative of the host unit, Dr. Tran Dinh Ly, Vice Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry, said that the school has carefully prepared facilities for the tournament to take place successfully, thereby spreading the sports training movement among students.

This is the third year the student futsal tournament has been organized regionally, aiming to build a healthy sports playground, contributing to the development of the futsal movement among young people.
