The tournament, organized by the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City University and Professional Sports Association and the Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry, will be held at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry Gymnasium (Linh Xuan Ward) from November 4th to 12th.
The teams will be divided into 4 groups, playing a round-robin format to select 8 teams for the quarterfinals. This year's tournament features many major universities such as: People's Security University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry, RMIT Vietnam University, Ho Chi Minh City Open University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Law,FPT University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports, Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology, Saigon Technology University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, Ho Chi Minh City University of Banking, and Swinburne Vietnam Alliance Program.
VOV Deputy General Director Vu Hai Quang said that the tournament is not only a sporting event but also an environment that helps students improve their physical fitness, teamwork, and willpower to overcome difficulties.
Meanwhile, Associate Professor Chau Vinh Huy, President of the Ho Chi Minh City University and Professional Sports Association, emphasized that futsal is a sport suitable for the school environment and contributes to discovering young talents for Vietnamese futsal.
Speaking on behalf of the host institution, Dr. Tran Dinh Ly, Vice Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry, said that the university had made thorough preparations in terms of facilities to ensure the success of the event, thereby promoting the sports training movement among students.
This is the third year the student futsal tournament has been organized regionally, aiming to create a healthy sporting environment and contribute to the development of the futsal movement among young people.
