Vietnam Futsal will compete in the 33rd SEA Games with two teams, including men and women. Accordingly, the Vietnam women's futsal team will compete first, starting on December 12. Meanwhile, the Vietnam futsal team will not start until December 16.

Vietnam futsal team plays 4 consecutive days
The men’s futsal event at the SEA Games has 5 participating teams: host Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia and Myanmar. According to the competition format, the teams play a round robin to calculate points and final rankings.
The Vietnamese futsal team will play 4 matches in 4 consecutive days. Specifically, coach Diego Giustozzi's team will face Malaysia (4pm, December 16), Indonesia (4pm, December 17), Thailand (7pm, December 18) and Myanmar (4pm, December 19).

Regarding the match schedule, head coach Giustozzi shared: "At the 33rd SEA Games, the Vietnamese futsal team has an unfavorable match schedule. We are the only team that has to play 4 consecutive days. Meanwhile, Thailand has 1 day off before meeting Vietnam, and so does Indonesia. However, I am still confident in my team. The players have improved a lot, and I will wait to see how they perform when they have to continuously face Malaysia, Indonesia or Thailand. I want to see the Vietnamese futsal team compete with the highest determination and aim for the gold medal."
Vietnam women's futsal team prepares carefully
The women's futsal event at the 33rd SEA Games has 6 teams competing. The Vietnamese women's futsal team is in Group B with Indonesia and Myanmar. Group A has hosts Thailand, Malaysia and the Philippines. The groups compete in a round robin to calculate points and rank. The top two teams in each group qualify for the semi-finals.
The Vietnamese women's futsal team will meet Indonesia on December 12 and Myanmar on December 14.

Before moving to Thailand, the Vietnamese women's futsal team had a training trip in Hangzhou (China) and had 2 international friendly matches with the Chinese women's futsal team. With this careful preparation, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang's team is expected to achieve good results in the regional arena.
