On December 14th, Binh Duong ward solemnly held the opening ceremony of the first Binh Duong Ward Sports Festival, 2025. This is the first major sporting event of the ward since its establishment under the two-tiered local government model.
The opening ceremony began with a procession of the national flag, a portrait of President Ho Chi Minh , the Congress flag, and a block of red banners.
The traditional torch procession started from the Party Committee Headquarters of Binh Duong Ward.
Mr. Nguyen Van Dong – Member of the City Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Chairman of the People's Council of Binh Duong Ward – received the traditional torch and lit it to inaugurate the congress, igniting the spirit of sportsmanship among all the people of Binh Duong Ward.
The Binh Duong Ward Sports Festival brought together organizations, units, schools, and 20 neighborhoods in the area, with 31 parade contingents and over 1,300 participants.
The congress is an opportunity to discover and select outstanding athletes to represent the ward in the city-level Sports and Physical Education Congress.
This is also a regular sporting event, demonstrating the determination of the Party Committee, government, and people of Binh Duong ward in developing the mass sports movement, contributing to improving health and strengthening solidarity within the community.
The Binh Duong Ward Sports Festival, featuring 9 competitive events, will take place from November 22, 2025 to January 18, 2026, marking a major event in the movement for physical training following the example of the great President Ho Chi Minh.
