Leaders of the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding on the talks.

At the meeting, the two sides assessed the results of the coordination work in border management and protection from September 2024 to present. Accordingly, the two sides coordinated to propagate to people in the border area about the special friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos, propagate to people to firmly grasp the laws on borders and border gates, and strictly implement the two 2016 legal documents of the two governments on the Vietnam - Laos land border.

The Border Guard Command of Hue City; Quang Tri Province and the Military Command of Salavan Province have deployed border management and protection activities in accordance with the Agreement on Border Management Regulations and Border Gate Regulations on Land between Vietnam and Laos. From September 2025 to now, the two sides have directed the organization of bilateral patrols between the provincial level in 1 session/24 officers and soldiers; at the station - company level/Laos Border Guard has conducted 33 sessions/783 officers and soldiers. Through patrols and controls, no cases of violations of border regulations have been detected, and the national border marker system and border signs of each side have been safely protected.

Direct units to effectively implement the regulations and rules of twinning between Border Guard Stations under the Border Guard Command of the two provinces and cities: Hue and Quang Tri with Border Guard Companies 511 and 514 under the Military Command of Salavan province (in which on August 26, 2025, Hong Van Border Guard Station, Hue City Border Guard organized twinning with Border Guard Company 514). At the same time, the two sides advised local Party committees and authorities at all levels to maintain and effectively implement the twinning model of residential clusters on both sides of the border, contributing to consolidating and strengthening the solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Laos.

Effectively implement the contents of the border cooperation agreement signed between the Border Guard Command/Vietnam and the Border Guard Department (now the Border Guard Command)/Laos; organize talks, meetings, visits, and congratulate each other on the occasion of holidays and Tet; regularly exchange information on the situation and share experiences in border management and protection.

On the occasion of holidays, Tet, and the force's founding day, the Border Guard Command of the two provinces and cities: Hue and Quang Tri and other units gave gifts to the border protection forces and people in the opposite area, and advised the local authorities to give gifts to the other side with a total value of about 1.2 billion VND.

At the talks, the two sides agreed on the direction of coordination in the coming time, focusing on the following key contents: Maintaining coordination in bilateral patrols and clearing border sight lines to maintain the integrity of the border system and border markers; advising all levels on policies and solutions to create favorable conditions for people in border areas during border traffic between the two sides.
