According to the Vietnam News Agency correspondent in Laos, the ceremony took place in a solemn and moving atmosphere with the participation of the General Secretary and President of Laos, Thongloun Sisoulith; the Prime Minister of Laos, Sonexay Siphandone; the Chairman of the National Assembly of Laos, Saysomphone Phomvihane; and a large number of current and former leaders of the Party, State, and Government, representatives of ministries, departments, the Fatherland Front, and people's organizations of Laos.
The large turnout of people from all walks of life further demonstrates their profound gratitude towards President Kaysone Phomvihane, who laid the foundation for the national liberation struggle and the building of modern Laos.

Speaking at the commemoration ceremony, General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith recalled the life, glorious revolutionary career, and immense contributions of President Kaysone Phomvihane to the Lao revolution; emphasizing that President Kaysone Phomvihane dedicated his entire life to national independence, the happiness of the people, and the sustainable development of Laos.
President Kaysone Phomvihane was born and raised in a time when Laos was a colony, its people heavily oppressed and exploited by foreign powers and their collaborators. Witnessing the loss of his country and the destruction of his homes, President Kaysone Phomvihane soon nurtured a desire for national liberation and sought a path to lead the Lao people out of their misery.
The light of Marxism-Leninism that President Ho Chi Minh brought to Indochina profoundly influenced the young Kaysone Phomvihane, helping him realize the right path for the cause of national liberation.
From the early days of his participation in the Youth Volunteer Movement, Chairman Kaysone Phomvihane built the political foundation, propagated and mobilized the people, and established the precursor organizations of the Party.
During that process, the Lao revolutionary movement gradually developed, forming a core force that led to the establishment of the Lao People's Party, later the Lao People's Revolutionary Party - the supreme leadership force of the Lao revolution.
Throughout the national liberation struggle, President Kaysone Phomvihane always stood side-by-side with the cadres, soldiers, and people of Laos of all ethnic groups, sharing joys and sorrows, and overcoming countless difficulties and hardships together.
President Kaysone Phomvihane's sharp strategic thinking, unwavering resolve, and fervent patriotism contributed to leading the Lao revolution from one victory to another, ultimately achieving complete victory, liberating the country, and establishing the Lao People's Democratic Republic on December 2, 1975.
On this momentous occasion, General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith called on all cadres, party members, and people of all ethnic groups in Laos to continue to uphold the spirit of solidarity and learn from the moral style and working methods of President Kaysone Phomvihane. He also emphasized that following the shining example of President Kaysone Phomvihane is not only an expression of gratitude to the great leader, but also a path to developing Laos into an increasingly civilized and prosperous nation, where the Lao people enjoy well-being and happiness.
