
At the reception, Comrade Uong Chu Luu respectfully thanked Comrade Bounthong Chitmany for taking the time to receive the delegation; at the same time, he reported the results of the talks between the Vietnam Peace Committee and the Lao Peace and Solidarity Committee that took place earlier, emphasizing that throughout the process of formation and development, the two committees have always considered each other as close friends, comrades and brothers; the cooperative relationship between the two sides has become a vivid symbol of the special bond in the friendship between the people of Vietnam - Laos, Laos - Vietnam.
Comrade Uong Chu Luu expressed his belief that under the attention and direction of the leaders of the two Parties and States, the coordination between the two committees will increasingly go into depth, substance and effectiveness, making practical contributions to consolidating the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation, and strategic connection between Vietnam and Laos.
For his part, Comrade Bounthong Chitmany highly appreciated the delegation's visit and work, affirming that the visit contributed to further consolidating and nurturing the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation and strategic connection between the two countries in general, as well as between the two committees of the two countries in particular.
In the context of the complex and unpredictable developments in the regional and world situation, along with hostile forces constantly seeking to sabotage the Laos-Vietnam relationship, Comrade Bounthong Chitmany suggested that the two committees of the two countries continue to closely coordinate, maintain sustainable cooperation and support each other at regional and international forums, to protect and promote the interests of the people of the two countries; at the same time, the two sides need to focus on promoting propaganda and education work so that the people, especially the younger generation, can better understand the historical traditions, special values and strategic importance of the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation and strategic ties between Laos and Vietnam.

Earlier that morning, at the Lao National Assembly Office in Vientiane, talks took place between the Vietnam Peace Committee headed by Mr. Uong Chu Luu and the Lao Peace and Solidarity Committee headed by Mr. Sommad Pholsena, Vice President of the Lao National Assembly and Chairman of the Committee. At the talks, the two sides agreed to continue to pay attention to and create conditions for people's organizations of the two countries to increase exchanges, exchanges and information sharing, thereby strengthening the friendly ties between the people. The two sides emphasized the importance of strengthening traditional education for the younger generation of the two countries about the history of the special relations between Vietnam - Laos and Laos - Vietnam.
The two committees also agreed to continue to closely coordinate at regional and international people's forums, together spreading the voice for peace, friendship, national independence and sustainable development. At the same time, the two sides agreed to increase the exchange of experiences in multilateral people-to-people diplomacy, international advocacy, mobilizing social resources for humanitarian activities, community development and improving people's lives.

Finally, the two sides emphasized the role of people-to-people diplomacy in connecting localities, communities, businesses, educational institutions and organizations of the two countries. This is considered an important driving force to promote substantive cooperation, bringing practical benefits to the people of the two countries, while firmly consolidating the social foundation of the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation and strategic connection between Vietnam and Laos.
