According to an exclusive report from Football Italia, Juventus representatives have contacted coach Luciano Spalletti and started negotiations on a contract until the end of the 2025/26 season with an option to extend for a year if results are positive. Spalletti, who lost his job as Italy head coach in June, is said to be ready to take over the vacant position, but hopes to reach an 18-month deal.
Juventus also have other options, such as former Fiorentina coach Raffaele Palladino and Roberto Mancini, who has the support of former President Giovanni Cobolli Gigli. However, the Bianconeri board still believe Spalletti is the best option at this time.
Juventus have now dropped to eighth in Serie A after Sunday's 1-0 defeat to Lazio, extending their winless run in all competitions to eight. The Turin side had a dream start with three wins, but that was followed by five draws and three defeats.
These disappointing results led to the dismissal of Igor Tudor on Monday morning (local time), followed by the departure of the entire coaching staff. The Croatian coach was appointed in March, then led Juventus to a fourth-place finish in the 2024/25 season. Despite not winning any titles, General Manager Damien Comolli still had faith in Tudor, confirming that he would continue in the role in the 2025/26 season. In the end, Tudor's reign ended after 7 months and 24 games (10 wins, 41.67%).
Tudor's departure reflects Juventus's current state of turmoil, with three managers sacked in 18 months, with Thiago Motta and Massimiliano Allegri losing their jobs in March 2025 and May 2024.
