FAT will strictly discipline individuals who make serious mistakes.
After the unfortunate incident at the draw ceremony for the final round of the 2025 Southeast Asian U.19 futsal championship when the Chinese flag was mistakenly displayed instead of the Vietnamese flag on the draw ballot, the Football Association of Thailand (FAT) has issued an official statement.

Accordingly, Mr. Adisak Benjasiriwan - Vice President in charge of futsal and beach soccer of FAT, sent a sincere apology to VFF and the Vietnamese people, affirming that FAT always respects all member countries and national symbols of the countries.
Immediately, FAT established an Investigation Committee to investigate the incident and discipline those responsible. FAT affirmed that this mistake originated from the organizers of the draw ceremony.
FAT President, Ms. Nualphan Lamsam (Madam Pang) sent an official letter of apology to both VFF and the Southeast Asian Football Federation (AFF).
"My mistake was unintentional and I hope you will forgive me"
Mr. Adisak Benjasiriwan - Vice President in charge of futsal and beach soccer of FAT will personally come to Vietnam on October 29 to personally deliver FAT's apology. FAT emphasizes that this was an unintentional mistake, there was no disrespect and hopes that VFF and the Vietnamese people will accept the apology. FAT also reaffirms its commitment to improving operational standards and maintaining the highest level of professionalism.
In an apology letter sent to VFF and VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan on the evening of October 28, Madam Pang wrote: "On behalf of FAT, I would like to express my deep regret and most sincere apology for the unfortunate incident related to the misplacement of the Vietnamese national flag during the draw ceremony for the 2025 Southeast Asian U.19 men's futsal championship, held in Thailand on October 28, 2025."

The FAT President said he was very sad about the incident: "This does not at all reflect the respect and appreciation that FAT has for all member associations and their national symbols. We are fully aware of the seriousness of this mistake and take full responsibility for the negligence that occurred." Madam Pang affirmed that FAT has immediately taken corrective measures, reviewed and strengthened the event organization process, to ensure that such mistakes will never happen again.
"FAT and I personally deeply appreciate your (Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan) continued understanding and support, and would like to reaffirm our firm commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and respect in all AFF events hosted by FAT," Madam Pang wrote in her apology letter, after she called to apologize to VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan.
