25 Vietnamese universities listed in Asia rankings 2026

QS Top Universities announced the ranking of the top universities in Asia in 2026. Vietnam has 25 representatives listed in this list, an increase of 8 schools compared to the previous ranking.

Ranked first is Hanoi National University at 158th place, followed by Duy Tan University at 165th and Ho Chi Minh City National University at 175th. All three schools scored above 50/100 points.

Compared to 2025, the rankings of Vietnamese universities have changed a lot. Specifically, Duy Tan University dropped from 127th to 165th, not ranked first as before. On the contrary, Hanoi National University and Ho Chi Minh City National University both increased their rankings, from 161st to 158th (ranked first), and from 184th to 175th (ranked third), respectively.

Notably, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) appeared for the first time at 287th place with 42/100 points. Many schools dropped in rank, including: Ton Duc Thang University (199 down to 231), Nguyen Tat Thanh University (333 down to 437), Hue University (348 down to 450), Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education (421-430 down to 901-950).
