On November 7, Children's Hospital 1 (HCMC) received a critical emergency case. The patient is a 13-year-old male student who was seriously injured after falling from the 3rd floor of a local school.
At the scene, when the 115 emergency team arrived, the child showed signs of cyanosis and gasping, indicating severe respiratory failure. Medical staff quickly intubated the child at the school before transferring him to Children's Hospital 1.

According to Dr. Dinh Tan Phuong, Head of the Emergency Department, the child was admitted to the hospital in a dangerous condition, with severe respiratory failure and shock. Here, the child was immediately resuscitated with a ventilator, pleural drainage, anti-shock intravenous fluids and blood transfusion.
The examination and CT scan results showed many serious injuries. The baby had bilateral pneumothorax, cerebral hemorrhage, abdominal fluid and right kidney injury.
Commenting on the baby's health, Dr. Phuong said he could not give an exact prognosis because the child's condition was still very serious.
In the coming time, the child will continue to be closely monitored. Doctors will handle the situation flexibly depending on the progress of the child's health, including considering intervention to treat the brain hemorrhage if the condition worsens or continuing to drain the lungs to resolve the pneumothorax, to support the child's respiratory function.
