After 1990, purple phoenix trees were propagated and widely planted in Da Lat. In 2019, the ancient purple phoenix tree next to Thuy Ta restaurant was broken by a storm. Another phoenix tree was planted to replace it, but it could not have the same appearance as the original tree.

Purple Royal Poinciana has the scientific name Jacaranda acutifolia, belongs to the Bignoniaceae family, different from the red Royal Poinciana in Vietnam. The flower has twice compound leaves and the shape of the flower is similar to the Royal Poinciana flower, so the locals call it purple Royal Poinciana.

In Tuyen Lam Lake National Tourist Area (Da Lat) today there is a road named "Purple Royal Poinciana Road".

Due to the impact of storm No. 13, last night, in the alley of Le Van Tam Street, Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat, a landslide also occurred. A fence and a high embankment collapsed below, causing part of a corrugated iron house to collapse. Fortunately, the incident did not cause any human casualties.
