'The song remains forever': The grateful songs of generations of students sent to People's Artist Trung Kien

Artist Quoc Hung revealed that the music night will have a very emotional part when the voices of People's Artist Trung Kien and generations of students from the Vocal Music Department sing together in a special performance.

Professor-People's Artist Trung Kien (1939-2021) devoted his whole life to the revolutionary music career and vocal training. To the public, he is known for many songs that have accompanied the nation's history. He sang with the spirit of a soldier-artist, giving revolutionary songs a strong vitality, both highly artistic and close to the public.

To honor the great contributions of Professor-People's Artist Trung Kien, the Vocal Department of the Vietnam National Academy of Music will organize a special art program "The songs remain forever" on November 16 in Hanoi .

The program is produced by the Golden Age Company, under the artistic direction of Doctor - People's Artist Do Quoc Hung, Director of the Vietnam National Academy of Music. Doctor - Meritorious Artist Tan Nhan is the general director. Master Nguyen Thi Bich Hong is the production director.

The program brings together leading Vietnamese artists, excellent students of Professor-People's Artist Trung Kien such as: People's Artist Quang Tho, People's Artist Quoc Hung, Meritorious Artist Dang Duong, Meritorious Artist Lan Anh, Meritorious Artist Tan Nhan, Meritorious Artist Phuong Nga, Meritorious Artist Phuong Uyen... and singers Trong Tan, Anh Tho, Bich Thuy, Bich Hong, Phuc Tiep, Le Anh Dung, Nguyen Vu, Khanh Ly, Quang Tu, Manh Hoach, Thu Hang, Huong Ly, Minh Tuyen, Thang Long...

The music section features the participation of pianists: Doctor - Meritorious Artist Trinh Minh Trang, Master Bui Dang Khanh, Master Nguyen Le Thuyen Ha, Master Nguyen Thanh Giang...

According to People's Artist Quoc Hung, mentioning People's Artist Trung Kien is mentioning a great voice, a great teacher, an exemplary artist, a person who devoted his whole life to music and to the cause of human training.

“The program 'Loi ca con mai' is a deep gratitude from the Vietnam National Academy of Music, from generations of students like us to the teacher - People's Artist Trung Kien. The program is also an affirmation that we are continuing and promoting the flow and musical heritage that the teacher left behind, continuing to develop the field of Vietnamese vocal training to new heights,” People's Artist Quoc Hung shared.

The program is divided into 3 parts: The origin of classical vocal music, Revolutionary music flow and Romantic and contemporary music - summarizing the career and dedication of People's Artist Trung Kien to the country's music and the role of "architect" in teaching and training vocal music in Vietnam, while also showing the continuation of the musical legacy of the famous teacher and artist.

Part 1 includes classical music works, including many Russian classical works by People's Artist Trung Kien, one of the first Vietnamese artists sent to study music in the Russian Federation - the center of world classical music, where classical vocal training is developed.

Part 2 recalls revolutionary musical works: “Ho Chi Minh, the most beautiful name,” “Truong Son song,” “Sending sunshine to you,” “Vietnam’s posture,” “Hello heroic Ma river” …

Part 3 includes modern romantic songs such as: “Hanoi, the Pink Heart,” “The First Cold of the Season,” “Nightingale Sings in the Rain,” “I Still Wait for You to Come Back,” “Night Stars,” “Love Market Longing” …

In particular, the program will close with the song "The Teacher" performed by a group of artists and the Vocal Faculty choir.

The concert will take place at 8pm on November 16 at the Grand Concert Hall, Vietnam National Academy of Music, 77 Hao Nam, Hanoi. The program, which does not sell tickets, is a touching tribute concert, a meeting place for teachers and students, where music becomes a link between the past and the present, to commemorate and honor the talented artist, the exemplary teacher, who left behind an impressive artistic "legacy"./.
