Tung Duong 'floats' with timeless love songs in the new album

On November 5, singer Tung Duong introduced a special music product called “The Voice-Timeless” in vinyl format - a collection of immortal love songs of Vietnamese music, meticulously and carefully produced as a meaningful musical gift for the audience who have loved Tung Duong's voice for over 20 years.

This is also Tung Duong's return to classic songs after the previous very successful album series "Tung Duong sings love songs" .

According to the male singer, the album title means Tung Duong's voice goes hand in hand with timeless love songs.

After many experimental and groundbreaking albums in recent years such as "Human" and "Multiverse" - where Tung Duong's voice was free to explode in new and pioneering musical spaces, this album brings that voice back with the sophistication of melodies that have accompanied the memories and souls of many generations of Vietnamese music lovers.

The album consists of 8 songs, all of which have been loved by audiences for many years. These are also the songs that Tung Duong loves because through them he can tell his own story, with different emotional states expressed through each song.

“Alone” (Lam Phuong) and “Lonely” (Nguyen Anh 9) are very personal narratives, with singing filled with many feelings on a beautiful, melodious background, with the gentle sound of the string orchestra embracing and comforting the loneliness.

“Ngam ngui” (Pham Duy-Huy Can) and “Noi long nguoi di” (Anh Bang) are stories told through music, with very interesting and surprising changes through different musical styles.

“Rieng mot goc troi” (Ngo Thuy Mien) and “Dau chan de paradise” (Trinh Cong Son) are interesting innovations, clearly showing the “dialogue” between styles, schools and Tung Duong himself in the past and Tung Duong today.

“Lullaby to Make Me Sad” (Trinh Cong Son) and “Eternal Love” (Pham Duy-Minh Duc Hoai Trinh) return with personal stories and feelings, but at a stronger emotional level.

The project's music director - musician Hong Kien said that making a vinyl record is of course difficult and making a product for Tung Duong is even more difficult, especially the pressure of choosing songs, finding arrangements and creating the overall look of the album.

“Tung Duong’s voice is now at its peak, combined with his experience and careful research on music and singing style, so it seems like Tung Duong flies through the arrangements, sometimes harmonious, sometimes relaxed, sometimes fierce, very versatile. Tung Duong is enthusiastic, but this time his voice is tolerant, experienced, and steps back to clearly see the picture of Vietnamese music through many periods,” musician Hong Kien shared.

In addition to musician Hong Kien, the album also features today's leading artists such as Thanh Vuong (piano), Trinh Minh Hien (violin), Doan Viet Dung (guitar), Hoang Hai Bang (bass), Le Minh Hieu (drums), Tran Hong Nhung (cello), Trung Dong (trumpet), and Saigon Strings. Musician Thanh Phuong is in charge of mixing and mastering.

The vinyl record “The Voice-Timeless” will be the first of a series of music products that aim to preserve the quintessence of Tung Duong’s voice and bring immortal songs back to today’s musical life in a new way while respecting past values. These albums will contribute to opening the door for the new generation, today’s young audiences, to access classic music values./.
