(NLĐO) - The male singer refuses to cover "hot hit" and viral songs that weren't actually written by him. Tung Duong says he wants to experience the most genuine emotions.

"The Voice - Timeless" is a collection of timeless love songs presented by Tung Duong to the audience with a refined, expressive singing style that cherishes the beauty of each sound.

After experimental and groundbreaking albums in recent years such as "Human," "Multiverse," and "The Voice - Timeless," Tung Duong returns to his most refined and exquisite style. There, the beauty of his voice is intertwined with melodies that have accompanied the memories, recollections, and souls of generations of Vietnamese music lovers.

At a press conference on the afternoon of November 6th in Hanoi , in response to a question about releasing his first vinyl record after more than 20 years of singing, Tung Duong said that collecting vinyl records is a luxury, requiring effort, resources, intellectual effort, and considerable expense.

"Buying a high-end audio system and speakers is expensive. So, talking about class is correct, not wrong, because it's an expensive endeavor for both the player and the producer. Up until now, Tung Duong's albums have been sold on vinyl, but only digitally converted to vinyl format," Tung Duong said.

Tung Duong not only showcased the best aspects of his singing but also demonstrated a unique approach to songs that have been around for decades.

This time, the singer intentionally made the vinyl record from scratch, returning to the original style and singing what the past celebrated.

Despite its minimalist, warm, and elegant spirit, the album "The Voice - Timeless," with the personality of a highly creative artist who refuses to be confined to what is too familiar, still presents a different side of Tung Duong through the spirit he wants to convey in each song.

It's not just a recreation of the golden moments of Vietnamese music through classic works, but also a dialogue between the past and the present, the old and the new. Against a beautiful musical backdrop, meticulously composed by musician Hong Kien, with a strong classical feel, Tung Duong not only showcases the best of his voice but also demonstrates a unique approach to songs that have endured for decades.

Speaking further about the fact that many singers are applying AI to their products, Tung Duong said he is not against AI or technology, and that music projects like "Liti" (2009) that he did with Nguyen Cong Phuong Nam in Germany used DJs with orchestral music.

"Now that AI and other technologies have flourished, AI can make music, compose songs for us, without needing our own creativity, and can even sing without a singer. Recently, there have been a few 'hot hit' songs that went viral, not composed by real people. I've even been invited to sing 'covers' of those songs, but I refused. I'm an artist – a human being – and I want the most genuine emotions. I respect the creative work of the musicians, the music that composers and producers create themselves," Tùng Dương affirmed.

The male singer also emphasized that AI should only be used to supplement and support artists in perfecting their skills, not to completely control songwriting or singing. AI should only be used as a working tool, not to dominate the artist's creativity. The heart and creativity of the artist are the most important.

"The Voice - Timeless" consists of 8 songs and can be considered a "request" compilation, as they are all songs loved by the audience.

The project's music director, composer Hong Kien, created a diverse musical space against a seemingly monochromatic backdrop (as all the songs were familiar, timeless love songs), ranging from gentle semi-classical to a touch of improvisational jazz and an emotionally charged funky/soul style, allowing Tung Duong to showcase the ever-changing beauty of his voice.
