An island that Vietnamese tourists are flocking to this summer.

New data from the online travel platform Agoda shows that many Vietnamese travelers are shifting their search towards less crowded destinations with rich natural and cultural experiences in the summer of 2026. Among these, Ly Son Island has emerged as the leading name in the group of most searched "emerging" destinations.

According to Agoda, searches for accommodation in Ly Son have increased significantly compared to the same period last year. The island is a popular choice for many tourists due to its pristine island landscapes, clear blue waters, colorful coral reefs, and peaceful lifestyle. This trend shows that many people are seeking different experiences, beyond familiar beach destinations like Phu Quoc or Phu Quy.

Besides Ly Son, Ninh Binh also recorded stable search growth. With the advantage of possessing the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, this locality continues to attract tourists thanks to its harmonious combination of nature, heritage, and cultural tourism. Destinations such as Tam Coc - Bich Dong or the ancient capital of Hoa Lu remain popular choices for many visitors.

In the northern mountainous region, Mai Chau continues to emerge as a popular short-term getaway for travelers seeking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. Agoda notes that many people are prioritizing destinations with pleasant climates, peaceful nature, and easy access over overcrowded tourist spots during peak season.

Meanwhile, Mang Den also made its first appearance on the list of emerging destinations. This area is considered an alternative to Da Lat thanks to its cool climate, pine forests, and the slow pace of life characteristic of the Central Highlands.
