Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry has a new rector.

(NLĐO) - The appointment of new leaders at Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry is expected to create momentum for the innovation process, moving towards a multidisciplinary university model.

On May 19th, Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry announced that Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son had signed Decision No. 1218/QD-BGDĐT appointing Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Tat Toan as the Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry; the term of office is 5 years.

This appointment further demonstrates the Ministry of Education and Training's confidence in Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Tat Toan's management capabilities, academic reputation, and contributions to the development of the university.

The appointment of Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Tat Toan as Rector for the 2026-2031 term is expected to further drive the comprehensive reform process of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Tat Toan began working at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry in 1995 as a lecturer in the Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine.

He studied and conducted research in the Philippines and South Korea before assuming several important management positions such as Head of Department, Vice Rector, and Rector of the university.

Over the past period, under the leadership of the Party Committee and the Board of Directors, Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry has implemented many innovative solutions in university governance, promoted digital transformation, improved the quality of training, expanded international cooperation, and strengthened applied research.

In particular, the school focuses on creating breakthroughs in science and technology, innovation, technology transfer, and developing high-skilled human resources; gradually affirming its role as a reputable training, research, and community service center in the fields of agriculture , resources, environment, and sustainable development.

In addition to training and scientific research activities, the school continues to promote community service activities, supporting local authorities, businesses, farmers, and students; contributing to the socio -economic development of the Southern region and the whole country.
