The design for the 2026 journalist ID card has been announced.

Accordingly, the journalist's card valid from 2026 to 2030 has dimensions of 85.725 mm in length, 53.975 mm in width, and 0.76 mm in thickness, conforming to the ISO CR80 standard. The card is made of PVC plastic and has a matte finish on both sides.

In terms of design, the front of the card has a yellow background with a lotus flower and bronze drum motifs in the center, while the back has a red background. The journalist's card is presented in both Vietnamese and English.

On the front of the press card, in the area adjacent to the left margin, the top section features a 20 mm x 30 mm photograph of the cardholder. Below the photograph is the location of the QR code that identifies the press cardholder's information.

In the middle of the card, at the top, is printed the words "PRESS CARD". Below are the lines "Full name", "Pseudonym", "Year of birth", "Organization". At the bottom are the lines "Card number", "Date of issue", "Date of expiry".

At the bottom edge of the card, adjacent to the right margin, are the title and signature of the authorized person signing the journalist's card, and the seal of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

On the back of the press card, at the top is printed the words in capital letters: “SOCIALIST REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM”. In the middle is the national emblem. The background is red with a bronze drum pattern, and below the card is a lotus flower. Below the national emblem is the text in capital letters: “PRESS CARD”.

The regulations also specify the information to be included on the journalist's card. Accordingly, the full name is written in capital letters as stated in the application for issuance or renewal of the card. The pen name is recorded as stated in the application for issuance or renewal of the card. The year of birth is recorded as stated in the application for issuance or renewal of the card. The agency is recorded as the applicant's workplace as stated in the application for issuance or renewal of the card.

The journalist's card number consists of 9 digits randomly selected by the software system. When scanned, the QR code identifying the cardholder will display information matching the database in the journalist card data system in real time, including the card's validity status, full name, media organization, and journalist card number.

Journalist cards are valid for 5 years from the date of issuance.
