The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announces the 2026 journalist ID card design.

On May 29th, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued a decision announcing the 2026 journalist ID card design.

According to the decision, the 2026 journalist ID card has dimensions of 85.725mm in length, 53.975mm in width, and 0.76mm in thickness, conforming to the ISO CR80 standard. The card is made of PVC plastic and has a matte finish on both sides.

In terms of design, the front of the card has a yellow background with a lotus flower and bronze drum motifs in the center; the back has a red background. The journalist's card uses two languages: Vietnamese and English.

New press card design has been released.

The front of the card features a 2cm x 3cm photograph of the cardholder. Below the photograph is a QR code that identifies the cardholder's information. The information on the card includes full name, pen name, year of birth, etc.

The card indicates the applicant's employing agency as stated in the application form for card issuance or renewal. The journalist's card number consists of 9 digits, randomly selected by the software system.

When the QR code on the card is scanned, the system will display information matching the journalist card database in real time, including: card validity status, full name, media organization, and journalist card number.

The validity period of a journalist's card is 5 years from the date of issuance.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism assigns the Press Department to preside over and coordinate with the Broadcasting, Television and Electronic Information Department and other relevant agencies and units to organize the management, issuance, renewal, revocation and unified use of journalist cards; manage journalist card data, and organize the verification of journalist card information according to regulations.
