The award aims to recognize and honor the outstanding contributions of groups, individuals, and teams of journalists in the development of culture, information, sports , tourism, and family. The award also recognizes the persistent efforts of press and media agencies in turning culture into a source of spiritual energy, spreading to millions of people, joining hands to implement the strategic action statement: "Culture is the foundation - Information is the conduit - Sports is the strength - Tourism is the connecting bridge."
Awarding prizes to 95 outstanding works
In just 4 months of launching, the Organizing Committee has received more than 1,040 entries from most of the central and local press agencies. The entries were published and broadcast on five types of press: print, electronic, radio, television and press photos.
The specialized subcommittees conducted independent and impartial evaluations, selecting 122 best works for the final round. This is an impressive number for a specialized press award, especially in the context of press agencies streamlining their apparatus. The quantity and quality of works this year show the deep concern of the press team for the fields of culture, sports, tourism and family.

As a result, the Final Jury selected 95 prizes in 5 types of journalism: Print, electronic, radio, television and photojournalism. Each type includes 1 first prize, 3 second prizes, 5 third prizes, and 10 consolation prizes.
There are also 3 collective awards for press agencies with many outstanding works: Voice of Vietnam Radio, Bac Ninh Newspaper and Radio and Television, Vinh Long Newspaper and Radio and Television.
The first prizes include: “Hanoi Capital: Forever living the memory of 70 years of victory” by author Do Minh Thu, VietnamPlus Electronic Newspaper; “Preserving historical and cultural values when naming after the merger” by a group of authors from Culture Newspaper; “Awakening heritage” by a group of authors from Voice of Vietnam Radio; Discussion “The era of rising up with the theme 'The rising generation'” by a group of authors from the News Department, Vietnam Television; “Family traditions preserve national colors” by author Tran Van Huan, Culture Newspaper.

This year is the third consecutive year that VietnamPlus Electronic Newspaper has been named at this Award.
The series of articles by author Do Minh Thu begins with the event of taking over the Capital on October 10, 1954, marking a turning point of great significance, opening a new and glorious period in the thousand-year history of Thang Long-Dong Do-Hanoi.
From a “Hanoi on fire, smoke and fire filled the sky,” a “Hanoi rumbling in red” in the bombs and bullets of war, after 70 years of construction and development with many strategic decisions of the Party and State, Hanoi has gradually “changed its skin and flesh” and put on a new coat, a new history, becoming the “Capital of conscience and human dignity,” “Creative City,” “City for Peace” worthy of being the heart of a developed, civilized, cultured, and modern Vietnam.

Sharing about the work, journalist Do Minh Thu said that she spent a lot of time researching documents and books to better understand the political and social context 70 years ago. Once she had this knowledge, she went looking for historical witnesses.
“They are now all over 90 years old, some are very weak, their memories are covered by a fog, some still remember clearly the days of revolutionary activities. To meet any of them is a blessing for me. So with historical knowledge, hours of audio recordings and many hours of work, I have completed a series of articles that are not only rich in information but also presented creatively and beautifully in e-magazine style, bringing an interesting reading experience to readers,” journalist Do Minh Thu shared.
In addition to the sharing of historical witnesses, the series also includes valuable opinions from cultural experts with a vision of the development of the Capital in the aspect of a "cultural locomotive" leading the country into a new era.
New inspiration for the cultural industry
This year's award has a new name: National Press Award "For the cause of developing Vietnamese Culture." Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh, Head of the Award Organizing Committee, commented that the name change not only demonstrates the spirit of innovation, but also reflects the strategic vision of the Culture, Sports and Tourism sector in the new development period.

The name "For the development of Vietnamese culture" emphasizes the central role of culture - the spiritual foundation of society, both the goal and the driving force for sustainable national development. This is also a message affirming the determination to make culture an endogenous strength, spreading Vietnamese values in the period of deep integration.
A highlight of the third season is the birth of the special category "Vietnamese Inspiration" - an award honoring press agencies, social media channels, and individuals whose artistic and media products have created a strong ripple effect in the community, contributing to promoting Vietnamese cultural values, inspiring positive living, arousing national pride and the spirit of humanity and creativity of Vietnamese people in 2025.
The Special Prize went to Nhan Dan Newspaper. The First, Second and Third Prizes were awarded to Vietnam Television, the Military Radio and Television Center and Hanoi Radio and Television. The Social Media Channel Award: Schannel Network and the Individual Award went to actor Nguyen Hung ( “Red Rain” ).

Journalist Le Quoc Minh, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association and Chairman of the Final Jury, said that this year, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's Press Awards have been raised to a new level in both scale and quality. More than 1,000 entries show the positive response of the press nationwide. The entries demonstrate depth of content, reflecting many major issues of the industry such as cultural policy, building family culture, and the role of culture in the digital age.
Many works do not stop at reflection, but go into in-depth analysis and propose solutions in heritage conservation, cultural industry development, social morality preservation, and creative spirit promotion. All have a common point - affirming the guiding role of culture in the sustainable development of the country.
On this occasion, the Organizing Committee launched the Fourth National Press Award for the Development of Vietnamese Culture./.
