The "backbone" of the economy
Cuong Dai Company Limited (Pho Yen Ward) was established in 2006, operating in many fields and maintaining stable growth for many years. In 2016, the unit decided to establish a Party cell in the enterprise; from 6 initial party members, the cell has now grown to 18 party members. Building a Party organization is identified as a task that goes hand in hand with developing production and business - a direction in line with the policy of developing the private economy associated with building a strong political and social organization.
Mr. Nguyen Van Cuong, Director of Cuong Dai Company Limited, Permanent Vice President of the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) of Thai Nguyen province, said: Throughout its operation, the enterprise always considers digital transformation as a breakthrough to improve production efficiency, management and customer care. Although it is a private enterprise, the unit still focuses on strengthening the Party organization, promoting the pioneering role of Party members, thereby arousing the spirit of solidarity, emulation and creative labor among all cadres and employees.

In the 2021-2025 period, Thai Nguyen province will implement a project to support small and medium enterprises, focusing on digital transformation, market connection and administrative procedure simplification. This is a concrete step demonstrating the spirit of "government serving and accompanying businesses". Thanks to that, many small-scale producers have boldly expanded their scale and established businesses. The whole province currently has nearly 13,500 operating enterprises, of which 98.7% are small and medium enterprises - the main contributors to the local budget and growth.

In Bac Kan ward, there are currently nearly 200 operating enterprises. Identifying the private economy as an important driving force for growth, the local government has proactively implemented many support solutions such as: Propagating new policies of the Central and the province; creating conditions for access to credit capital; organizing training, promoting trade, and promoting products. At the same time, the ward promotes administrative reform, applies digital transformation, shortens the time to process procedures, and regularly dialogues with businesses to remove difficulties in land, premises, and planning.
Ms. Nong Thi Thanh Nga, Vice Chairwoman of Bac Kan Ward People's Committee, shared: In the coming time, the ward will issue a Project to support SMEs and cooperatives in the period 2025-2030; at the same time, coordinate with the Provincial Association of SMEs to study the establishment of a business association in the ward. Thereby, creating a bridge between the government and the business community, contributing to promoting local economic development.
Recently, Thai Nguyen province has paid special attention to promoting administrative procedure reform, providing legal support and minimizing time and costs for businesses.

With the concept of “5 companions, 3 supports”, many reforms have been applied to create the most favorable conditions for businesses. Typically: 100% of business registration dossiers are received online; the time to return registration results is shortened from 3 days to 1-2 days; the time to approve investment policies is reduced from 35 to 25 days; at the same time, direct consultation is provided for business households to convert to enterprises. Newly established SMEs are also supported free of charge with procedures for changing, suspending or terminating operations, as well as the licensing process for conditional business lines.
These innovations not only remove administrative barriers but also create peace of mind and trust for the business community when starting up and making long-term investments in the locality.
Promote the establishment of small and medium-sized enterprise associations at the grassroots level
Based on the results achieved, localities in the province are continuing to promote the establishment of SME associations at the commune and ward levels. This is considered an important step to form a network of connections and mutual support in production and business, helping businesses proactively adapt to the market and integrate more deeply.

In addition to expanding production, digital transformation is becoming an inevitable requirement to help businesses improve their competitiveness and integrate deeply into regional and international markets. Statistics show that about 90% of SMEs in the area have initially applied digital platforms in accounting, management, marketing and e-commerce. Local authorities regularly accompany and support businesses in accessing capital, technology and policies, helping to stabilize production and business in the context of increasingly fierce competition.
Mr. Bui Minh Cuong, Deputy Director of Tan Lap Elevator - Mechanical Co., Ltd., said: When local authorities proactively accompany, enterprises will have more conditions to promptly grasp the State's policies and guidelines, thereby complying with the law, improving management capacity and expanding the consumer market. This is also the basis for SMEs to promote their potential and make positive contributions to the local budget.
Sharing the same view, Mr. Nguyen Van Cuong, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial Association of Small and Medium Enterprises, said: The Association has advised the province to direct 92 communes and wards to mobilize the establishment of grassroots business associations, striving to have 100% of communes and wards have business associations by the end of 2025. Up to now, about 70-80% of communes and wards have established advocacy committees, contributing to the formation of a network of connections, sharing experiences, and supporting each other in production and business.
The development of SMEs reflects the strong vitality of the private economic sector, and at the same time demonstrates Thai Nguyen's determination in building an open and modern investment environment. Each enterprise is a dynamic nucleus of the economy, contributing to production innovation, market expansion, job creation and increased budget revenue. Promoting this sector has become a strategic orientation, helping the province maintain a stable and sustainable growth rate and move closer to the goal of becoming a modern industrial province in the new period.
Thai Nguyen province strives to have 21,600 or more enterprises operating in the area by 2030; the private economic sector contributes about 50-55% of GRDP. For the industrial sector, the province aims to account for about 55-57% of the GRDP structure by 2030, with the growth rate of industrial production value reaching about 8.5-9%/year. |
