From the cultural point model
Na Ba hamlet, Dan Tien commune, is where 100% of the population is Dao Lo Gang. Traditional cultural values such as hand-embroidered costumes, language, ancient writing, Cap sac ceremony, Pao dung singing and wedding and festival customs are still respectfully preserved by the Dao community here.
However, in the face of the wave of integration and the strong impact of technology, many cultural beauties are gradually being lost. Realizing that, the Women's Union of Dan Tien commune has proactively restored and promoted the model of ethnic cultural clubs.
Before merging the three communes of Binh Long, Phuong Giao and Dan Tien, the locality had an effective Dao Lo Gang Cultural Preservation Club with more than 20 members. After the merger, to adapt to the new conditions, the Association continued to advocate for the establishment of a new Club in Na Ba hamlet, with the participation of nearly 60 women members who are directly involved in, practicing and teaching traditional culture.
In a conversation with us about preserving the identity of the Dao Lo Gang people, Ms. Pham Thi Nhi, President of the Women's Union of Dan Tien commune, said: Women are the important force in preserving the national identity. They are the ones who directly sew traditional costumes, teach their children the language, writing, sing folk songs and maintain the family tradition. Therefore, the establishment of the "Women preserving the cultural identity of the Dao Lo Gang people" club is our way of concretizing the role, responsibility and pride of Dao women in today's life.
The club is expected to become a model, not only preserving traditional cultural values but also contributing effectively to the movement "Building Vietnamese women of the new era: confident, self-respecting, loyal, and responsible". Through regular activities, members share experiences in sewing costumes, learning Nom Dao script, practicing folk songs and together preserving good customs.
Pausing for a moment, Ms. Nhi spoke as if confiding: Having studied in some localities, I realized that preserving cultural identity along with the reasonable exploitation of traditional values will help create new livelihoods for local women. Therefore, we hope that through the restoration and promotion of Dao Lo Gang costumes, cuisine , and folk songs, Na Ba hamlet will become a community tourism destination. At that time, women will not only preserve culture but also be able to increase their income and improve their family life from the value of culture.
To spread national identity

Up to this point, information about the club's activities has been spread on social networking platforms such as Facebook, Zalo, TikTok, with videos and images introducing Dao people's costumes; instructions on embroidering traditional patterns or sharing stories about the Cap sac ceremony and wedding customs.
Club President, Ms. Trieu Thi Binh excitedly said: We take advantage of social networks to introduce Dao Lo Gang culture to everyone. When I see friends from other places admiring and praising my traditional costumes, I feel very proud and have more motivation to learn embroidery, learn to sing folk songs and actively promote and mobilize women to participate. In the club today, there are women in their 70s and 80s who are still enthusiastically participating.
Now the club's activities are not only limited to female members but also have an impact on the community. Mr. Trieu Van Sinh, a resident of Na Ba hamlet, said: We are very happy that the young generation, especially women, are interested in learning about the culture of the nation. In the past, many people did not know how to sing Pao Dung or read Nom Dao script, but now thanks to the classes of the Women's Union, many girls know how to embroider costumes, sing folk songs and confidently perform at festivals.
Not only stopping at preservation, the "Women preserving the cultural identity of the Dao Lo Gang ethnic group" club is also a forum to connect the community, helping women support each other in production, raising children and building happy families. Through activities, Dao Lo Gang women share their experiences in doing business , maintaining a civilized lifestyle, and uniting to help each other overcome difficulties.
In the current context, preserving cultural identity is not only the responsibility of the community but also the driving force for sustainable development. The establishment of the “Women preserving the cultural identity of the Dao Lo Gang ethnic group” club in Na Ba hamlet has affirmed the pioneering role of women in heritage conservation.
From these specific and practical efforts, the Dao Lo Gang women in Dan Tien are contributing every day to enriching the colors of Vietnamese culture.
