During 32 years of association work, Ms. Nguyen Thi Do (born in 1957) - Head of the Women's Association of Tan Phu village, Nam Ninh Hoa commune, has always been tireless on the journey of spreading love and sharing difficulties with the unfortunate. For her, association work is not only a responsibility but also a joy, a way to "live beautifully".

Active in association work

Ms. Nguyen Thi Do has been the Head of the Women's Association of Tan Phu village since 1993, when she was also the Vice Principal of Ninh Ich Kindergarten. In the early days of participating in the association's work, due to lack of experience, she encountered many difficulties in gathering and mobilizing women to participate in activities. However, with perseverance and enthusiasm, she went to each house to learn about the circumstances, talked, listened to the thoughts of the members, encouraged and praised the members who actively participated in the activities, and mobilized everyone to join hands to help those in difficulty, sick... Through specific actions, closeness, sincerity, and enthusiasm in work, Ms. Do gradually gained the trust and love of the women. Thanks to that, the activities were more crowded, and the women's movement became more and more exciting.

The Midwife takes care of the flower road implemented by the Women's Union of Tan Phu village.

The association holds regular quarterly meetings and on International Women's Day (March 8), Vietnamese Women's Day (October 20), and annual summaries. During the meetings, she implements the association's activities and programs, and shares knowledge about marriage and family, gender equality, child rearing and care, family economic development, health training, and reminds women to maintain environmental hygiene, save money to support the poor, and help those in difficult circumstances. Through association activities and movements, the association has built many effective models such as: Plastic waste collection, Saving piggy banks, Flower route, Giving to those in need - Taking to those in need, Health club, Happy family club, etc., contributing to the development of the locality.

In 2012, she retired from her job at the kindergarten and continued to be involved in the association's work until now. Mrs. Do shared: "I do association work with the desire to share and help those in difficult circumstances; at the same time, encourage women to boldly participate in local activities and movements. It is the love of women that helps me to be more dedicated and committed to my work."

Spread the spirit of charity

The movement to support members in economic development, job creation, and income increase has been promoted by Mrs. Do. She mobilized 60 women to join 5 savings groups with an amount of 55 million VND/year, supporting each other with interest-free revolving capital at 11 million VND/person to buy fertilizers, seeds, trade... to earn more income. As the head of the loan group, she supported 54 women to borrow capital sources with a total outstanding debt of more than 1.3 billion VND to develop the family economy. She introduced many women to learn free weaving at members' businesses to find jobs and stable income. She also implemented the labor exchange model "1 well-off woman helps 1 poor woman" so that members can support each other in production and work.

The Midwife came to the house to propagate the content and visit and listen to the members' thoughts.

To have funds to help the needy, she mobilized women to raise piggy banks and implement the "Plastic waste collection" model. Along with funds mobilized from benefactors, on average, every year, the association gives 30 gifts and nearly 50 scholarships to women and children in difficult circumstances, worth more than 26 million VND. Each year, she also researches and writes articles calling for support for 1 to 2 cases with sudden difficult circumstances and serious illnesses. Each case is supported from 9.6 to 24 million VND, helping them overcome difficulties. During the Covid-19 pandemic, she mobilized 100 million VND to support people...

With her contributions, Mrs. Do has received many certificates of merit from the central to local levels. In 2025, she was awarded by the Commune People's Committee for her outstanding achievements in the patriotic emulation movement for the period 2020 - 2025.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Cam Nhung - Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nam Ninh Hoa Commune, President of the Commune Women's Union, said that Ms. Nguyen Thi Do is an exemplary, enthusiastic and energetic branch president in the work of the association and the women's movement in the locality. She not only completed her tasks well but also actively mobilized and helped many difficult circumstances, spread the spirit of humanity and was trusted and loved by members and people.
