Nha Trang City Mixed Urban Area Project: Removing obstacles to speed up progress

The authorities of Nam Nha Trang ward are making efforts to speed up the site clearance progress of the Nha Trang City Mixed Urban Area Project. This is an important project, expected to become a high-class resort and residential destination, an urban architectural highlight, contributing to changing the socio-economic face of the province.

According to the report of the People's Committee of Nam Nha Trang Ward, to implement the Nha Trang City Mixed Urban Area Project, it is necessary to reclaim more than 226 hectares, with 1,649 plots of land. Up to now, the ward has completed the surveying work; inventory of more than 113 hectares with 208 plots of land; completed the verification of land origin of more than 73.5 hectares with 120 plots. The locality is actively implementing the work of approving compensation, support and resettlement plans.

In the first phase, the locality handed over 30.4 hectares of land to the investor; it is expected that in the second phase (before November 15), it will continue to hand over 45 hectares of land. Although the locality has actively coordinated with the authorities to implement compensation, support, resettlement, and site clearance for the project, it still faces difficulties in verifying the origin of the land; making compensation, support, and resettlement plans; land funds for resettlement... The main reason is that the origin of the land in this area is quite complicated, many plots of land have been transferred through many owners; the process of implementing tasks according to the 2-level local government model also affects the progress of implementation...

The Nha Trang City Mixed Urban Area Project has a scale of more than 226 hectares, a total investment of more than 17,000 billion VND, uniquely designed with 3 large islands - 3 prominent subdivisions in the middle of the river, connected by bridges. Area 1 "Smart Ecological Urban Peninsula" is 68.55 hectares wide, adjacent to the new administrative center of the province. Area 2 "International Amusement Park Island" is 51 hectares wide, including 2 main parks: International Theme Park and Public Park, with the mission of reshaping the tourism and night-time economic map of Khanh Hoa. Area 3 named "Paradise Island" is more than 44 hectares wide, positioning a luxurious, isolated living space exclusively for the upper class. The project is not only a place to live, a new destination for Khanh Hoa tourism, but will also become an urban architectural symbol of the "land of Agarwood and the sea of ​​​​swallows".

Mr. Nguyen Van Minh - Chairman of Nam Nha Trang Ward People's Committee said that in addition to verifying the origin of the land and developing a compensation plan, the current resettlement demand for the project is 400 plots of land. The locality has determined to arrange resettlement cases in the Dat Lanh Resettlement Area, but currently this area only has 389 plots, which is still lacking. In addition, the project has a part of overlap because another project has stopped implementation, which needs to be resolved soon to speed up the progress of compensation, support and resettlement.

Recently, the investor has actively cooperated with the People's Committee of Nam Nha Trang Ward in site clearance, making 9 advances of funds with an amount of about 542 billion VND; at the same time, actively implementing the construction of the assigned land items. Mr. Tran Tuan Anh - Chairman and General Director of Khanh Hoa Sun Company Limited said that the investor highly appreciated the efforts of the locality in compensation, clearance, and land allocation for the project, however, the progress has not been as expected. From now until the end of the year, the investor prioritizes speeding up the construction progress of Island B - the thematic park area, where there will be a 2,500-seat grandstand. The investor's orientation is to complete this grandstand early to organize fireworks displays on the occasion of Lunar New Year to serve the people and create a stimulus effect in the South Nha Trang area. However, if the locality cannot hand over the site before November 30, the investor must change the plan, still constructing the grandstand area but will shoot fireworks on a barge and assemble the grandstand to serve the people.

Comrade Nguyen Khac Toan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said: "The Nha Trang City Mixed Urban Area Project is an important project, aiming to realize the goal of socio-economic development, creating a highlight of modern urban architecture for the Nha Trang area in particular and Khanh Hoa province in general. Therefore, the work of compensation, support, resettlement, and site clearance of the project needs to be completed soon so that investors can implement important items". Comrade Nguyen Khac Toan requested the People's Committee of Nam Nha Trang Ward to continue to increase human resources, coordinate with functional agencies to speed up the progress of verifying the origin of land; soon establish a plan for compensation, support, and resettlement; actively mobilize people to hand over land for the project. The ward needs to develop a detailed plan according to a specific timeline, from which there will be effective implementation solutions.
