Comments on the Tourism Development Project of Thai Nguyen Province

Comrade Duong Xuan Hung, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, chaired the Conference.

Attending the Conference were representatives of the Provincial Tourism Association and leaders of communes and wards with tourist areas/spots in the province.

After merging administrative units, Thai Nguyen has a large area, rich resources, diverse terrain with many famous landscapes, historical and cultural relics, craft villages and unique traditional festivals. The province's geographical location is favorable for connecting tourism in the capital region with tourist routes in Viet Bac and the Northeast.

Thai Nguyen's tourist market has seen positive growth each year. The main tourism products include: Community and rural tourism associated with Tea culture; cultural, spiritual, historical and origin tourism; eco-tourism, resort tourism; MICE tourism, sports, and adventure cave exploration.

In the period 2021 - 2025, the number of tourist establishments will increase by an average of 10% per year. By the end of September 2025, the whole province will have 785 accommodation establishments, more than 4,700 restaurants and catering services, and over 7,000 direct workers in the tourism industry.

The construction of the Project "Tourism Development in Thai Nguyen Province for the period 2026 - 2030" aims to concretize the policies of the Party, the State and the Resolution of the 1st Congress of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030, to orient the development of tourism in the province to become an important economic sector, contributing to the economic restructuring, improving people's lives, creating jobs, preserving and promoting the cultural, historical and natural values typical of the Thai Nguyen - Bac Kan region.

At the Conference, delegates contributed many enthusiastic opinions, focusing on the following contents: Adding a number of priority projects and works on traffic connecting to planned tourist destinations; building stricter mechanisms and sanctions to manage and monitor entrance tickets; building specific tourism products associated with the strengths of each locality and region; attracting investment in localities with tourist areas and spots; classifying by tourist groups, focusing on exploiting international tourist groups...

The conference also spent time discussing and evaluating the tourism situation of the province as well as each tourist area and destination to propose appropriate solutions to ensure the feasibility of the Project.
